My mother added me as an AU. Her scores on all three bureaus are above 800. She pays on time all the time and her utilization is definitely below 30%. She added me as an AU on all three cards and she’s had them for about 15 years or more. What can I expect from this? I watched the video just asking.

Hi. Thank you for your advice, and channel. I have a question, I'm on my wife capital one account an as A.U. our limit is $200, as it is new. How long will it report to the bureau for my account to increase (I have no credit, new credit and it was hard for me to get an account because of my gross income). How long before we can increase the amount of the account? And how do we budget around $200?

My mother added me on her chase freedom card as an authorized user but did not ask for my social security number. She has asked if it will report the history they told her no that they don’t do that? Can you be added as au on a chase freedom card or are we not doing or saying something right? What can we do what can we say?

I’m 17. My mom has added me as an AU to her credit card. When I turn 18 and open my own secured cc will I have prior credit history to show for from being under her? Also, at this age do I even have a credit score? I have no clue what’s being counted towards me being an AU under her cc.

Awesome videos! Extremely helpful. I’m very new to building my credit. I had a couple questions regarding an authorized account and building credit.

If I’m on an authorized account for say 1 year, and at the end of the year I want out of their authorized cc , do I lose that entire year of building my credit? What exactly happens to that credit? Also, if I was on an authorized cc would I be able to acquire a secured, or regular cc while I was on an authorized cc account and would it better help to build my credit score if it’s allowed? Is that possible, how would that work?

I honestly have like 100 questions haha so I’m trying to keep them as minimal as possible and most important ones first.

Thank you again for everything 🙏🏼

If I get added to a credit card as a AU will that bring my credit utilization down? For example I get added to a account with a 10k limit will that increase my over all credit availability by 10k driving my credit utilization down assuming it’s a low or no balance on that 10k account.

Thank you for this video. One question..

Assuming the primary cardholder has two different cards with two different banks. Let’s say Both banks report the additional user to the credit bureaus. Let’s say both cards are in perfect payment standing, never missed a payment or been late. One card is 6 months old at $5k limit and the other is 3 years old at $500 limit. Both cards are at zero balance. Is there a benefit to the authorized uses of adding the smaller limit, older card ? Or the higher limit, newer card ?

I've read on some websites that only certain CC companies actually report AU history (along with the primary card holder) to credit bureaus. I have a Barclays LLBean CC. If I were to setup an AU, would Barclay report the AU's history to the bureaus (to help the AU build credit/get credit history)? Barclay also told me that both accounts would come through on the same monthly statement which would have to be paid all at once from the same checking account. That being said, how would the AU's credit history be reported to the bureaus if both accounts are linked to the same statement? Thanks in advance!

If I am a authorized user on a credit card and the primary user has another or multiple credit cards, do those other credit cards affect the score of the authorized user on the one card? Will adding my self to two different authorized user accounts in good standing with no late payments help or hurt my credit score?
If one of those party's had a student loan on there report would it be a good idea to not become authorized user on there account? Or will it be beneficial to have the two authorized accounts with different people even if they have a student loan with no late payments and no late payments on there credit report?

Is it possible to get someone as an AU on one of your CC accounts (w/ a low limit for emergency purposes only) if you don't have their SSN, like a good friend but someone who is not normally close enough to usually deal with SSNs (think not spouse but longtime friend you would lend cash to that pays back quickly)? Or does this not compute?

John.... I am making steady progress in rebuilding my credit. I have learned more about "The Authorized User' and the effect it can have to positively impact my credit score. About 8 years ago I lost my job due to being sick with Kidney disease and the bills pilled up, thus crushing my credit. Thinking I was doing the correct thing, I closed numerous credit cards after i paid them off out of my savings. But still the damage was done, yet i did even more damage to my score by closing the accounts and not using any form of credit until October of 2015.

Recently i viewed your above video and it got me thinking. My mom has a score of about 840 when she recently purchased a vehicle and the salesman told my mom that he had never seen a score that high in a very long time. Kinda Cool ... GO MOM !!!

My questions are:
How do I go about being an "authorized user" on my mom's accounts ??
Do I need to have the actual credit card in my possession, even though i don't need to use it ... ever ?? i have my own again.
What information will she need from me ?? ....SSN, ....address, phone # ...etc ??
How many accounts should I become authorized user on in order to help my score and length of history and credit limits ??
What credit cards are best for this 'authorized user' scenario ??
How do I get all THREE credit bureaus to update this information to my credit history ??
Do I leave the accounts from my mom on my credit reports indefinitely ??
My mom uses credit responsibly, so that is not an issue, ..... yet if my mom dies, .... how does that change this ??

thanks for all the videos, .... they do help !!
