Can you count to 12? Then you can play BattleTech.

Whew, what an embarassing stink bomb of a cringe take. From the same person trying to push boutique hipster bait like Carnevale no less and the astronauts fighting over rocks zine game. Sigh.

What I'm hearing is a lot of 'This kind of game doesn't appeal to me', not this game is bad. Very misleading video title. Why even bother making it? And Battletech is convoluted? Your favorite game, 40K, has core rules that fill over 60 pages. Battletech's core rules fit on 6 pages.

Anything is better than dealing with Games Workshop.

Yet again Discourse I have found another video you made! And yes it’s great! However, I have just started playing Battletech Alpha-Strike and had a really cheap buy in at $39.99 USD. The gents I play the game with have a beginners box with terrain and everything needed. This really makes things easy. Where’s Warhammer 40K requires a Codex that reads like an ICBM instruction manual….. just my opinion. To each their own I recon. Plus nobody in my community plays 40K, it’s just a hard game to learn from a dead start. Battletech was quite an eye opener with Alpha Strike. Just my take.

Reasons why I love battletech:

1. It's awesome, with or without awesomes. Even with Cicadas. It's imperfection is a thing of beauty.
2. It's human (chicken people besides) - the emotions are human; the reasons things happen are for very... human... reasons (Amaris, you swine); you can relate to almost ever group to a degree.
3. It's medieval European feudalism in spaaaaaaaace.
4. Perhaps most importantly of all, I can play virtually the same set up I've had since the 90's and the models and units are still workable as units, whereas since I started 2nd edition 40k I haven't even a clue how many rule changes, codex changes, unit revisions there have been . Total burnout after almost 25 years.
5. I absolutely do love big stompy mechs.
6. I can potentially buy BT and have a crippling heroin habit simultaneously, whereas that wasn't a fiscal reality with GW skinning the proverbial sheep.
7. As a Northerner, outlasted Thatcher deserves a round of applause.

Should at least fet their facts strait. Topps still owns battletech and liscenses it to cgl for the boardgame.

You shouldnt be inaccurate and annoying. Try to pick just one. Fact checking might be easiest for you.

When it comes to you "wanting to be seduced by little men"... have you tried Danny DeVito? :P

I feel like I should send you some models. The ones you posted were the old metal ones. The new PVC ones we produce for them are highly detailed.

Alpha Strike is a completely different game system from classic BattleTech. I would never expect anyone outside of the 40+ year-old grognards who perpetually haunt the backrooms of game stores to even touch classic BattleTech. Also, take it from someone who's never played Minecraft or Fortnite, it's okay to just not drink the Kool-Aid.

It's hilarious watching this vid, and then looking at your channel. The last few months have been nothing but videos complaing about the state of W40k. Hope you're enjoying your overpriced miniatures game.

I actually enjoy the BattleTech mechanics way more than 40k. For once they don't use a d6 to determine every single role. 6s just don't have enough variety to fulfill massivle different playstyles and the abilities that comes with them. I also enjoy the slow crippling of enemie units. Sure it's nice to wipe a whole enemie unit from the board with some apocalypctic weaponry, but to slowly nagging away the enemies armor, getting into the structure and then start to hit critical to even further cripple him. Thats just gorgous.

And it is way faster, at least for me. Sure, there are tons of tables to have to consult, but after a few games you just know what to do. No stratagems to memorize, or weirdly written command abilities to discuss. It's just move, shoot, melee and up to the next turn.

Have you consider adopting a whiny obtuse infomercial shriek?

Says BattleTech is a threat to 40k
Ignores that BattleTech is older than 40k by 3 years.

The designers of 40k played Battletech btw. They even sold it at the OG GW store. If you haven't played it your opinion is empty.
