For 30-years I was a film photographer. Not long after the turn of the century, I sold my film gear and went all digital.

After a decade of digital photography using modern computer-designed lenses, I found myself longing for the classic "filmic/cinematic look" of yesteryear. Especially when it came to the quality of the out-of-focus background blur (bokeh) and the character of specular highlights.

Around 2010, I sold my modern, zoom, autofocus lenses and started a new full-time career adapting vintage film-era lenses. These YouTube lens adapting videos will take you along with me on my decade long exploration of lens adapting techniques.

This video is an overview of the 10 major lens adapting techniques that I cover in my YouTube playlist on adapting lenses.
