Although the Yaris held up pretty well you can see that it had the harder impact for the driver as it even had to accelerate backwards.

That Yaris is a beast. Only a Camry can take it down. And if your in an American made car you're dead.

Yaris held up quite well. It did some damage to that larger car! Good job in design...

This yaris 3rd gen is not available in thailand. Because toyota Thailand already to join an eco-car project from BOI Thailand. but worldwide already to sale now. PS.New Eco-car in thailand (base on Toyota dear qin Concept)

@dorkinski I don't see how you saw that as a passenger side, but remember that they drive on the left in Japan, where this test was held. So they have had to change, if not the whole engine side, the side of the steering column, pedals, and so on for it to fit to Japan's roads.

it handeled it better then the old yaris did, but i'm a bit concerned about it flying into another lane of traffic :| just like the smart 42 which can also take A hit but how can it handel a second hit?

Wow the new Yaris is a lot more rugged. Still would rather be in the bigger car though.

They probably won't sell either of those cars in the US for awhile, because they are too safe and wanna screw the US govt up.

If I knew the guy doing to tests, I will for sure taking that Crown for a spin for a week.

This test is 55km / h (about 34MPH) for both cars.

@andreasausmuc Closing speed of 80 Mp/h (40 Mp/h each) at a 40% overlap. So yes, it is the same.

@CarPro1993 Do u happen to know if the test configuration was the same as in the IIHS test Yaris vs. Camry (and Smart vs. C-class, Jazz vs. Accord)?
