How do you get it on the final track,
I can never get it to work ?
Where would you put this in your master bus chain?
ОтветитьThe more I have used this thing over the years the more I have to say this is one of those few tools you d want on a lonely island. A magical box. Happy to learn that this machine sports 52 vacuum tubes, which even tops the Fairchild easily (29 tubes).
ОтветитьBought this plugin 2 years still haven't used it, think amma use it now
ОтветитьI get a lot of hiss when I have it on several channels. Is there a way around that?
ОтветитьWould this be good for metal mixes?
ОтветитьGreat tutorial! This helped me understand this plugin A LOT!!! 🙏🏾🙌🏾
ОтветитьEither yall’s ears are poor or listening through poor quality monitoring. I can hear all the nuances his trying to show us. Good teacher and video.
ОтветитьPeople really believe they can hear those differences.
ОтветитьI slapped it on a an already fairly processed but digital sounding reece. I thought it really smoothed up the transistery sound and gave it the grizzle a savage reece needs, and the different speed bias and model settings ect had some great aftifax. I also appreciated the clipping and resulting gain reduction. Definately an underestimated tool by myself, not any longer, think il run more bass tops through it. So happy I watched ur tutorial 😁
ОтветитьYour speaking mic is way too loud. Can't hear the subtle differences when switching effects. Too bad...
ОтветитьBias for tape is sort of like primer for painting!
Ответитьi can't hear anything different :( is this my pronlem?
ОтветитьI grew up listening to records and 8 tracks and Reel to Reel. "Scotch Tape"! We used to demagnetize our tape heads. Clean them with alcohol with a Q-tip. After years of use your tape head in your tape deck would have the finish worn off. Back then, you wouldn't use the tape product that was sold to clean your head because it would wear it off faster. Use alcohol and a Q-tip to clean from dirty tape. "Tape Hiss"?! We never liked or would welcome Tape hiss! When CD's and digital mastering was born (Dolby's Funeral), we raved about the clear signal and pure digital remastering thing...or digital mixing. Isn't it funny now days that they sell us a digital piece of software that emulates the time along with the very audio symptoms we originally wanted to get rid of🤔
ОтветитьPlease shut up and let the plug-in speak for itself.
ОтветитьWorthless ... how can we "hear" the differences when you are talking the whole time...?
ОтветитьI'd really like to hear the plugin...
Ответитьthanks for this tutorial! I'm keen on getting it and this really helped to get a bigger picture what I can do with it :)
PS: let the people complain, they can't hear the difference because of bad ear training skills and not because the video is bad lol :D
" How To Use: Waves J37 @MattMontanez " is a much better tutorial that teaches you what everything does in detail, plays the difference with each setting, and is a shorter video. I recommend it much more than this for the average or beginning engineer who has virtually no knowledge of what tape is.
ОтветитьTalk much? Hard to hear changes while you talk over them... good topic and explanations...
ОтветитьSo nice! Anyone know how to make it work with Audacity in Mac?? Is that even possible?
ОтветитьCPU overload.... lol good one
ОтветитьMike is the best!
Ответитьcan´t hear anything with this guy talking non stop
ОтветитьTalking over the changes constantly. So frustrating.
ОтветитьThanks , very informative
Ответитьall yall complaining you cant hear the difference... but you dont get that he's from the "mix with your eyes" school of thought.
ОтветитьApparently, you just have to buy the damn thing just to HEAR IT without some chucklehead yapping over it. How can audio companies be this painfully stupid? GRR!
ОтветитьThis helps me a lot thanks❤
ОтветитьThank you so much! Very good explanation of the plugin.
ОтветитьI hope this guy eventually learned the difference between tremolo and vibrato
ОтветитьCompletely useless tutorial / review. Narration level is way too loud compared to what we're meant to hear demonstrated. If you give an example of what a button does (audibly) then shut your mouth for 30 seconds. It was impossible to hear any differences between the various settings and buttons pushed because of the annoying voice-over.
ОтветитьYou guys need to re-do this one for newer prospects. Talking way too much and can't even hear the effects because yapper's talking over everything. So lame.
Ответитьgreat stuff learnt a lot! maybe change the mic/example levels when going thru examples but overall very informative. thanks!
ОтветитьMichael...Not intended to be offensive, but only constructive criticism... You may want to consider getting yourself a nice Waves stereo compressor, and USE IT to tie into your tutorials for ducking your voice overs. Another professional suggestion would be to just STOP talking at the point where you run the example of the effect your demonstrating. Before I was an Audio Mastering Engineer, I taught technical seminars on various subjects as a sideline to my main positions as both Master Electrical and Master Mechanical Engineer. However, I found your presentation followed an excellent line of thought and technical examples of the products' capabilities. I'm also fairly confident since this was made just over six years ago, the issues I've mentioned are also most likely a thing of the past.
ОтветитьI made it to minute 9 stopped the video. This video's soundtrack is not good enough.
ОтветитьVO needs a fair amount of work. I'd also suggest a better balance between the demo material and the VO.
ОтветитьCan the guy mix his voice louder and lower the volume of the music? ;)
ОтветитьGood video-visuals and details but too much talking over the examples... :-(
ОтветитьGot this plug-in recently. The 888 formula, though not the cleanest, brings the mids to the front and I find it very pleasant for presence when mastering.
What's the name of the song used on the demo?
I enjoyed this demo, makes me want to buy the plugin badly (I wonder what would be the effect on a voice over track). It gave me a bit of nostalgia when listening to the warmer sound of tape and remembering my brother (rip) teaching me how to clean magnetic heads with alcohol and q-tips, lol. We didn't have much but he knew stuff back then.
ОтветитьAs already said below, this is an embarrassingly poor production value in terms of recording and mixing and narrating. How ironic that this is a pro audio platform.
ОтветитьWay way over my head. I'll stick to a Strat and a blues junior amp ;-)
Ответитьthe 811 Formula is the one that distorts the hardest for me, kind of weird... I guess in the end it's all about what you hear.
ОтветитьPLEASE STOP TALKING WHILE I`M TRYING TO LISTEN!!!!
ОтветитьДрочерство
ОтветитьSounds cool... Why did CPU thingy pop up?
Ответить
