I swear to fucking god in metal ranks in 66% of all cases DPS throw the game cause they don't do anything and have a 0.5 K/D

My teammate support was flaming me for doing tonnes of pressure around the corner and going back to them and they got like 5 nanos.

Is there any way to make an alt account on console without making a new PSN? I would love to try different things on an alt account, but I am not sure if it's possible

I shifted my mindset from secure elims to pressure the enemy and force them out of good positions and I see that I die a lot less, my teammates die less and Im winning more games and even more consistently my teams have been rolling teams that are at our level or maybe even above us. And shit I’m still getting a lot of elims lol

As a dps main, this is really noticeable when I'm playing support in qp or something. I'll see the enemies in a strong position yet lack the means to pressure them out of there and just have to hope my dps will take care of it. It's why I really enjoy heroes like genji because he has the means to force them off an aggressive angle and potentially kill them if they're isolated. When a dps isn't doing their job, you might not be able to tell from states, but you can really feel it in game. Sometimes a dps can have really low stats yet the game has been a breeze because of their presence in powerful positions. Unfortunately a lot of people fail to understand this and flame you when you don't have a gazillion damage from jumping the tank and feeding enemy support ult charge

When you have more hrs in tryhard FFA than comp so you end up just a mechanical god that tries to 1v5 and get stuck low gm 🥲

The tank is the threat, The dps is what backs up the threat and the support, makes surr the threat works

I wished I climbed faster. I win 5 and lose 2 and still stay in the same division. Rinse repeat.

You just explained that the job of a DPS is to make space.
If Hanzo is uncontested on high ground from my experience everyone expects the mobile tank to handle it.

I play a lot of sombra, one match i spent wayy to much time running around with enemy reaper and sometimes mei. For a lot of fights it was effectively 4v3 they had no dps cause they were chasing me way off point and i was stalling, still got flamed cause for a couple of fights i wasnt there, like yeah bish neither are both dps, and before that I was bullying LW and the tank, which is why i was being chased and focus, they said i needed more damage i had 8k something and bastión 10/11k....

Throughout OW2 i climbed from bronze to mid-high plat (for now), since I was stuck in elo hell for most of OW1 (and yeah, trust me who got out, its a thing). Heres my personal observation on the most relevant mistake I see people fix throughout the ranks which holds them back at earlier ranks: They do not appreciate their life on lower ranks, and the more you climb, the more people start caring about their life. I know, as a main support, this is most relevant to supports, but this is still true for both DPS and tanks. Usually support players in lower ranks are a little more aware of this than their DPS counterpart. For everyone in these ranks I would give the following advice: try to die less. This sounds trivial and maybe even out of your control (since its the "healer"s fault for not healing me), but trust me, once you focus more on dying less, you start getting more awareness and better positioning at the very least. Also, the more time you're alife, the more time you actually get to practice/improve your shooting in this game. I do agree with @coach_mills on the points in this video, but if you feel like you are atruggling at lower ranks, learn to die less, to play around health packs, to not overcomt, to not go out of position. The crazy plays will come with time once u got the basics figures out. What I have noticed throughout my consistent climb through OW2 is that I am likely often the person with the least deaths, theredore often most picks, most damage, most healing (whatever the role really). And again to everyone, please appreciate your life more, supports will also love you for this, because most of the time, if theyre not healing you its because you're 1.dead 2.out of line of sight. Two signs you do not appreciate your life enough. For everyone stuck on low ranks, try to fix that and when you objectively get better at that, the rest will come in time. This to me, is likely the best piece of advice I could give my bronze self from the past. Lastly, you DPS should be able to survive without a constant heal/pocket pretty well and then use your healers as mobike health packs you can go visit for a heal, just dont expect them to heal you 1. all the time and 2. If theyre busy with one of their other 100 tasks, such as surviving against a flanker, healing someone on less HP than yourself or whatever else they have to do to support their team. Now really last tip, if you are absolutely getting rolled by the enemy team and are putting out 0 pressure, try swapping to a hero that puts out consistent damage to at least try to challenge enemy pressure a little (I tend to gravitate towards high dps heroes for that such as soldier, reaper, phara, etc since you will get decent damage/pressure out even if missing some shots). And I guess that's it for now. I guess Ill be back some day to provide more inaight to climb even higher.
