There was a man from New Zealand that moved to Texas that was/is? Producing 70% Spitfire kits. His are metal kits. But are very accurate and beautiful aircraft. I don't know if he is still in business. His kits use a redrive hooked up to a late model Ford V6, or an LS1 Corvette engine.

Like building a Ferrari with an air cooled VW engine. 👎 The only decent kit build 51 is the thunder Mustang with the Falconer V12. 👌

Can someone tell me why everything is built to a smaller scale? It seems to me that at that level, you may as well do the full thing.

Ok it’s a painstaking process to make the molds with fake rivets which most likely increases the cost of kit. Plus would not the u smooth wing and fuselage cause more drag. Doesn’t make sense to me?
