Does stress compound? Can you carry stress from an event for years? Do other events add to that stress?

There’s a lot of very actionable information here, and I’ve already started applying some. Thank you.

Im not familiar with racetam MOA, but the blood glucose explanation for amphetamine/cocaine performance enhancement doesn’t hold water. While they do that, they both radically increase DA and NE - usually too much to the point where you’re going see receptor down regulation, throwing a wrench in the entire strategy outlined in the podcast. I’m sure you know this… just steering people away?

What about remembering/reviewing information you learned during adrenergic activities? I usually use it as a study technic but I’m not sure if there’s any difference between doing it at resting state or even between just running and not recalling info after a study session. What do you think, doctor?

Ive just listened to this, a first time listener, really fascinating. You mentioned about getting daylight first thing in the morning. I live in the UK, we have daylight savings -which is a load of nonsense, so our clocks went back an hour at the end of October, and resultantly it's dark in the morning until about 8am. Is there anything you can do in place of this natural daylight, such as a lamp?

Everyone's different. I've found for me it helps to limit the splurging to to once a week, be it food or whatever. It gets my body to not count on certain feel goods. It increases their effects. It encourages the my body to try to repair or create these things on their own so I become less reliant on a habitual external source. That's just me everyone is different.

Licorice is used in Ayurveda for centuries, it helps to keep cortisol high in situations of short-term stress, if the body doesn’t have the resource to keep it high by itself. So that the body won’t be so easily depleted.

Dr Huberman, the immediate thought that comes from watching your work is - why do we have politicians worldwide who are so ignorant and why do we not replace them with academics like yourself who actually know what they are talking about and have an ethical and socially responsible mind to boot. Your abilities and your contributions are truly inspiring for the rest of us who would love to think like you...perhaps some of us will ....well, a little bit...sort of.

Black licorice is not what’s sold as the candy. Instead it is licorice root the European variety. I have the powder and it is absolutely disgusting. I believe it works by increasing the conversion of cortisone to cortisol.

Germans swear by Chamomile for all kinds of ailments, but interesting that it decreases estrogen, as it is commonly used against menstrual cramps, when estrogen is already low. Good to know with the Ashwaganda - it's in the gummies I've been taking against morning headaches, so won't be doing that anymore :D and will watch the episode on Headaches next!
