I thought Paris SG spends the nost on players ? When i did a search the results showed that they spend $ 300 million + on players. It was around 370 million when Messi was still there. According to my search anyway

Is it our fault that we have the best marketing and best product on the planet. It's the most entertaining league bar none where last place can beat 1st place on any given day. THIS VIDEO IS BS

The Spanish league have been doing this for many many years, Real Madrid and Barcelona. Real Madrid was actually getting money from the state. France PSG owned by some petro $ Arab has been doing this too. No one said a word, now its come to EPL and folks like you are crying. Suck it up, what goes round comes round.

I think it’s wonderful what the premier league is doing! Nobody seems to have a problem with the NBA being the biggest basketball league. Nobody had a problem with La liga dominating for 15 years. The premier league is providing us with the best entertainment in the world. Of course La liga are unhappy with this, they hate it cause they ain’t it. They wanted a super league, and now there is one :)

The spending is undoubtedly out of control but it should be pointed out that in the past Italian clubs and Spanish clubs were outspending everyone else to buy the best players. Real and Barcelona in particular continually paid what at the time were huge amounts on obtaining the best players.

i would like to say that the initial growth and interest in the English game was not just money but to a large extent the style of play, English football is known for its high pace and fast tempo, maybe at the start lacking in finesse but intense, this is always been in largely stark contrast to the game in Italy, Spain and France. As an English fan growing up watching Italian football i found it too slow and too boring for the most part. Where the Premier league excels now is retaining that high level of pace and intensity whilst adding a far higher level of skill and technical ability.

not sure if it would ever work, but a cap on foreign players being able to be bought in a transfer window; would help stop English teams poaching all the best players, it may also have a knock on affect of giving more game time to young home grown talent. though it may also have the negative side effect of buying more youth prospects from abroad at a young age and not ness stopping the cycle.

We looked at the future where literally a runners up club from Scotland and Turkiye only targets for Conference League, rather than top level Champions League. Even, Championship club fans didn't care about European places anymore, only looked to survive on the Prem.

The italian league went down because their style is so boring. When both teams play 10 men behind the ball what are you watching.

Other leagues have 1 or 2 team competing for title whereas premier league have 6/7 team competing for title . This is the foundation for sucess of premier league . Seria A was also very popular but Juve continous dominace ruined it . Wait for some years , if Guardiola continues to dominate league and make premier league a farmer league then premier league will also be like other leagues .

I like Scottish soccer.
I do not want a UK league. As all the Scottish trophies would be relegated to the status of non-league trophies. While all the EngIish trophies would be seen as forerunners of the UK trophies. So Man Utd would be seen as having 20 titles, while Celtic, Rangers, and Aberdeen would be regarded as having won none. I would prefer a best of both worlds scenario. Where we keep our Scottish, Welsh, and English leagues. But on top of domestic and European football, we also have extra cross border cups with club sides from Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Ireland, England, North America and France.
Cross border cups are the solution.
The Scots already allow Welsh and Northern Irish sides in the Scottish Challenge Cup.
Let's have 3 strong leagues in Great Britain, not one.
I do not want the Scottish clubs to join the EPL, as everyone would think Scotland was in England.

Manchester United owners never injected money into the club. It's opposite. They taken money out of club to pay themselves. 100s of millions. And never renovated/built stadium.

is kind of sucks how is happening but you are now seing what europe has been doing to southamerican clubs for decades. Is imposible to keep up with this amount of money and it complicates any chance of winning anything like this. UEFA wont release the players unless is for fifa dates, is makes it harder to have friendly matches for NTs like this. Everytime a club from SA makes it to the clucbs cup finds the same players that got them to that place in the european side. And this is only gonna get wors for UEFA since now you are probably gonna start losing players to the MLS and Qatar/Emirates or whatever.

The notion that Roman ruined English football is hilarious, there was money in the league well before Roman (hence the influx of players from Italy in the mid-nineties), he just challenged the rich clubs' dominance and succeeded

The premier leagues popularity is not solely based on buying "best players" (because the best players C Ronaldo, Messi, Cavani, Ibrahimovic and much more) did not play in England, the reason is england being a English speaking country, media hype (because BBC) and former colonies not having a league of their own where their own players cannot play so they have to watch them in europe. La Liga has always been better to this day but they speak Spanish

you missed one of the key points on how the broadcast right is so expensive now: EPL did so well in promoting their league in asia, especially south east asia, by offering them a cheap package back in the 2000s.
