my manual truck ain’t got a tack🥲
ОтветитьWow what a rabbit hole, look at baby Thomas!
Ответитьbro use M bimmer to make demo
ОтветитьDoes this work the same even if i swapped my car from auto to manual but kept the same differential that the automatic transmission came with
ОтветитьThomas has such a cool way of very thoroughly explaining things, which is one reasons I love Throttle House
ОтветитьIts been almost a year with my first manual, an 06 miata, and I still cant shift smooth in any gear except 4th to 6th. They say just practice but ive been driving it every day at least an hour total. Honestly its making me want to just switch to an automatic at this point
ОтветитьI learnt absolutely nothing watching this video. Waste of time. At this pace you will never meet a petrolhead Englishman and you will certainly not have two million subscribers.
ОтветитьGuys I'm 7 years late but all I can say is.... Experience..... With more experience you just know when to shift smootly... I'm a European driver so that means I am very experienced with shifting so my advice is to try to actually drive a manual. A skill is something you need to practise, Just like driving a manual car. you just need to drive and get a feel of it. Practise... You don't learn to play guitar without actually plating the guitar. you need to practise it before becoming smoothly with it.
ОтветитьHaha he has changed over the years
ОтветитьWhat the heck is a kilometer and how does that help me shift? So you want me to learn an entirely new system of measurements to be able to watch this video? Dude you’re the one making the content, either translate that or get blocked
ОтветитьI've found newer cars like you to just delay things a bit and they sort of smooth everything out for you. This is a little disconcerting if you're used to older cars without throttle-by-wire etc.
ОтветитьLearn to shave them legs
ОтветитьI am troubling shifting from 3rd to 4th gear when shifting. Can’t get the timing right
ОтветитьThe problem with shifting like this (pushing higher rpm before shifting) is that you will consume more gas. If you want to be more conscious about it like we are in europe since prices are higher, you need to shift in lower rpm. And if you do that you need to press the gas before shifting
Ответитьme watching with no rpm gage 😞
ОтветитьSo when you apply a little throttle while coming off the clutch, will that damage the car? Should I wait until my foot is completely off the clutch before stepping on the gas?
ОтветитьGreat info. Thank you
ОтветитьHello, dear. Your advice is very helpful, I really found it. Would you mind tell me properly balancing? Thanks so much in advance!!
Ответить“Just do it correctly “
ОтветитьI come from a good history of racers and car builders. I was once told, there is never a perfect drive. I've never stressed since and basically progressed better after hearing that.
ОтветитьDUDE i used to watch you YEEEEARS ago when i had my first e46 and you had just a couple thousand subscribers, so freakin happpy for you you have always killed it bro keep it up!
ОтветитьI’m smooth but slow with my shifts and I don’t have anyone around to teach me except yt. Every once in a while I’ll get that jerk when I’m going up through the gears but I’m practicing like you said smooth and also quick! I already knew this stuff but it’s a great refresher for the next time I’m in the seat!!
ОтветитьTiming is not a thing, rev matching is, look it up. Anyone who know how to properly operate a stick will be able to flawlessly shift every gear without the clutch, no grinding, no nothing
ОтветитьJust American Things
ОтветитьMy fucking friend betrayed me. After 14 years of driving manual he said hes tired of that shit and his next car will be automatic. Im crying internally
Ответитьso basically get get an automatic
Ответитьfuck your an insanely good explainer man thank you
Ответитьmy shifts be jerky but jerky shifts is what makes standard cars fun and special to ride in
ОтветитьFor me getting out of neutral to 1st without stalling and without riding the clutch is hardest part for me with my M3 and 6 speed manual transmission or reverse without going to fast and not stalling.
ОтветитьOG "TH!"
Ответитьi got into hit by someone after having my first car for 36 hours, totaled it, so i got a very cheap manual. i’m getting the hang of stick shift, it’s just making me scared of another accident. thanks for this video, i need to get more confidence and drive smoother
ОтветитьI have rev hang
ОтветитьThis was really helpful
Ответитьwhat car is he driving an E30 M3?
ОтветитьMan how throttle house grew so much from this lol pretty crazy to think about
ОтветитьJust got a 2021 WRX in august, thought it would be easy to learn to drive smoothly. I’m still trying to get the hang of it today because it is such a rough clutch / rev hang to get used to.
ОтветитьStarting it could be easy and perfecting it comes with time over and over. This video is really good
ОтветитьWhat on earth is the 4th pedal on the far left?
ОтветитьGood information regarding the rpm while shifting the gear!!
ОтветитьSo the foot needs to be completely off the gas padel until release the clutch completely?
ОтветитьIt's so odd seeing TH doing this type of content
ОтветитьI've been driving a manual for about 8 months now, maybe more. I've always had the kick when starting, shifting to 2nd, a little bit when shifting to 3rd, and downshifting. I can never seem to get smooth shifting down.
ОтветитьHow to know that correct timing you're talking about?
ОтветитьI learned driving basic from an old vehicle in the 90's, the thing has no RPM gauge in its tachometer (thats the only thing we had, so make the best out of it) so I was conditioned and trained to "feel" to the vehicle by getting used to the sound it makes when you step on the gas, to sounds of louder to quieter when up shifting or down shifting
Ответитьwtf is "Rev hang"
ОтветитьWear pants next time.
ОтветитьManual use to scare the fuck outta me. Stallin in traffic. Grinding gears. Then after being the lot jockey I slowly got the hang of it. It’s time honestly. One day I just got the muscle memory of it and now I prefer it. I daily my automatic truck and my funzie car is also automatic. So when I get the opportunity to drive manually it’s like a treat. Just spices up the drive a little more. I learned manual because I had to drive one for work and it just got easier over time.
