How I feel when I tell people I ride horses

South East London School for Street Urchins and in the 4th Year, 14 year olds, we we were offered to take Horse Riding in P.E. 12 pupils were chosen and when we get to the Stables, it turns out that three of us could already ride and ride well, two of us could Jump, one of us, not me, had his own horses! It seems we had been keeping it quite! I had been riding since I was 7, and I learnt dressage techniques, such as Passade, for opening gates, changing the diagonal for being on the right leg. Also taught to take off the Saddle and Bridle, whilst trotting by a retired Cavalry Trooper who owned the Stables. From freezing December days, pulling a horse out of a frozen lake, to spring early mornings with hoarfrost still heavy on the ground, long hot summer days and multicoloured foliage on Autumn trees!
The only thing to bring you back to earth was the whinny, crying rich kids who had never been told off before or had never been told that what they were doing wasn't good enough! I even saw a mother crying because her daughter still couldn't perform a rising trot!
