While you have the cross, it IS your...so to speak...holy .50 caliber machine gun. Its your protection. When you lose it later, it is the absolute worst feeling in the world. In a weird way, having the cross almost makes the player feel like the doom slayer...in a way

It's a little bit graphic, Especially sexually so. But the strong midevil religious tones make me think you'd really like the games Fear and hunger and its modern sequel Fear and Hunger Termina

Is that like with the elevator demon? Can only children see her among the uninitiated? I've seen in some fiction where children are closer to the realm of souls, like in Kabala. It seems likely to me considering how the sacrifices work in the Second Death, newborns are as close as you could get.
