I haven't been doing great this school year. And am very aware that I didn't do well this semester, so i'm trying to focus on the upcoming semester. Most of the time I don't think about the long game. But I think if i'm ever in a mental rut, or just having a terrible day. That I should just come here and remember to play for the long game.

This a lesson I learned from Jeff Bezos when I worked for Amazon. Wish I was taught this when I was in high school.

I just graduated from college and I'm still trying to figure out this balance. Zoo Tycoon actually helped me out a lot with learning these kinds of lessons. Prettying up my zoo or focusing all my efforts on one exhibit without completing all the objectives put me in major debt quite a few times before I put two and two together.

Omg, this is really important. Have you noticed that kids games never really engage with the idea of your decisions impacting the gameplay? The idea of choices you make affecting the course of a game has become bread and butter for mature rpgs since chronic trigger and mass effect, and it’s so important that we teach kids that their actions and choices can have longer consequences, but kids games never really engage with it. The closest that came to it was shadow the hedgehog, and that’s ... kind of pathetic

dose anyone remember the days extra credits wasn't a history channel and made interesting vids that wouldn't try to give you life advise but rather forced us into thinking critically for what on the surface looked meaningless but actually where a very important part of what game developer has to worry about ?

I really needed this today... I'm quickly coming up on graduating college, which is great, but I've been pretty concerned at the what's next. This summer in particular I have been massively busy and have felt like I've neglected big things and made some big mistakes...
