Bloodborne Cut Content - Gascoigne Friendly Encounter - Conversation Dialogue Restored

Another one of those cases where I can't really imagine why they removed this. Did they not want to be too explicit about the nature of nightmares? Keep some mystery around "Are all the hunters in the same nightmare? Or are they all experiencing it differently?". Not sure, really. Either way, good to hear that awesome voice work one more time!

I actually wish they kept the first encounter and dialogue with him with the final product. It would've added even more impact with his story and lore.

It's a shame this got cut, it would had been cool having him as a companion and then the game making us kill him just to remind us how dark the universe is.

In the game it is awful and jarring. He helps you fight Cleric then randomly is the next boss feels so rushed and cheap. This would have been so much better

It is a crime we didnt got that. A progression through the cleric beast "door" and much later boss encounter vs gascoigne wouldve been too good for a single game, so they cut it.

At least you can summon him to help you fight the cleric beast, I really loved this character.

Gascoigne is a savvy savage in the cut content. A man you can go to the pub with and win a bar fight.

Fromsoft is a master at crafting characters with just few lines of dialogues and amazing voice acting. Somehow they created much more memorable characters with just a few lines than others spending millions on actors and cutscenes

That first alpha you showed where he helps was actually in a playable demo, I remember it at MCM London or maybe EGX years ago? I like the idea of it being a bit of story telling before the official release

Stuff like this would have made Bloodborne so much better if they kept it there.

I think I got an altered game then because I was able to summon him in Central Yarnham and he helped me clear out all enemies before his boss fight, couldn’t talk to him though.

I like to summon him and clear as much of central Yharnam as possible as a Hunter buddy-cop duo. Adds extra emotional weight to the eventual boss fight, even without this extra dialogue. Though it feels weird that you can take him to his daughter's window and neither of them acknowledge it.

This is canon. I don't care if we don't see it in the final version of the game, this is an essential part of the story that never should have been removed, at least as far as the interaction goes. This adds so much more to the encounter you have with him as a boss, to see him as an accomplished hunter, but hear from his quips that he's way too ready to slaughter, even saying that it might be best to kill someone even if you're not sure that they're a beast.
Even if they had to cut him helping in battle, he should have been interactable before righting him as a boss.

OMG I actually freaked out when I heard that “Umbasa.” Never expected it to be a direct reference to demons souls!!!!

I'm 3 years late, but I think Gascoigne is my favorite character in Bloodborne. The fact that he would've had a direct reference to Demons Souls would've been amazing. When you start to think you wonder if Bloodborne is a spiritual successor to the game. In Tower of Latria what falls in the middle of the area? A giant Heart. What falls in the Nightmare of Mensis, a giant Brain. People traveled from distant lands to receive the old blood, your character included, as they wear foreigner clothes. God I love Bloodborne so fucking much

????? Wait I am confused. I was able to summon him on New game+, if you have insight before his boss fight. You are talking about this??? I believe the summon happened in that area with the Troll and the crows next to his house. I remember doing this and being shocked because I didn't know this was possible. But I didn't need to mod my ps4 to do this. Are we talking about the same thing?

An npc turned boss fight would have been very interesting. I'm not sure how it would have worked though because you can kill most npcs

I wish you could bring him to family and find paleblood or anything to cure him. Then later as thank you he would come for summons as helper in future boss fights not only cleric beast.

Man, i would love to hear all this cut content in the other languages as spanish, italian or german.

Feels like he was a twist on Ostrava. Rather than watching him persist to the end we’d see him die (by our own hands) right at the start

I love where you meet Gascoigne in the Alpha version as he's outside his home killing beasts so I like to think he's protecting his daughters but because he forgot his musical box, his descent into beasthood is more prevelant
