The performance overlay actually ruins some of your performance. Use a different fps counter that doesn't use so much of your pc power.

the gpu utilisation of that level, indicates that either this game is not optimised correctly(wich is correct) or is getting bottlenecked somehow by the processor/ram, any bridge etc

Does anyone even give a shit about the Matrix as a setting anymore? I know I sure don't. It pretty much died the moment the sequels happened.

Can you provide more details on CPU usage? Number of threads / cores, percentage of usage, maybe some GPU/CPU trace to see all cpu and gpu utilization each frame?

How is this running so horrible off the bat. I though Nanite and Lumen were meant to make UE5 run higher framerates off the bat without initial optimizations.

And people were bashing Series X and PS5 for getting 24-30 fps. Their resolutions were also 1440p internally with 4k TSR .

You can tell this needs an unhealthy amount of optimizations. I have no idea how the fps is so dogshit but oh well.

Have you capped it at 30 fps? Gpu utilisation seems really low. Should be getting around 45 fps on high settings at 1440p upscaled to 4k. Maybe even 1600p

You could make a fantastic Superman game finally with this Engine.

Why is CPU/GPU utilization so low? Are the CPU threads being maxed?

It looks unfinished.

Positives:
-Lighting, volumetrics, shadows, reflections (essentially the ray tracing is great)
-Object streaming, didn't notice pop in if there was any, and the view distance was pretty much cranked for every object. Pretty much if something came into line of sight, it was already fully loaded. Pretty nice.

Cons:
-LOD except for some geometry on some of the build architecture is surprisingly low
-NPCs look last gen, LOD and animations (presumably animations could be swapped/improved ofc)
-Physics. Saw a couple nice glass shatters but everything else looked standard if not below average. No remnant shards of glass on the windshield or taillight that shattered, looks bizarre.
-Color pallet. Gonna chalk this one more up to design for the scene. The glow of the (presumably) morning sunlight was nice, but not much color overall put on display here. Nighttime was nicely lit but there is no range put on display here. Just the same warm generic light everywhere.
-PERFORMANCE... gross man. 25-35 fps with what looks like insane motion blur added on top of that? Lmao sorry. Washed out all of what little there were of fine details throughout the scene almost completely when the camera/screen was in motion. It definitely needs optimization... even if it's just the demo scene itself.

Overall, I can't believe the decision for Epic to showcase this demo. It's so bad when you consider everything. You can tell it's got potential and that they are aiming for a next gen engine here from what is shown-- but this reminds me of like... the original Watchdogs. Insanely unimpressive. I'm going to have to go back and find that original Matrix UE5 demo vid that came out a while back and watch it again so I can remember why people were so impressed. I remember being impressed too, and for that to be true then I must have seen something way better than what we saw here in this fail vid.

Dumb question, does the fan speed in the performance overlay refer to your gpu fans?
