Wow, this is exactly what I was looking for! I just kept wishing for a strength and flexibility workout routine specifically for dancers, combined to target every muscle in the correct way, flexibility, and technique.This was perfect, thank you!

ОтветитьI’m sorry I couldn’t join live but I just watched and will be doing it tomorrow! I loved how much thought and time you devoted to us. Also, I think we have a lot of similarities in our bodies and I know for a fact those circles en dehors et en dedans will be the death of me. Love it!

Ответить👍I’d love to see how you add artistry with head/arms at the barre. Barre is actually my favorite and I’m looking for ways to “fancy it up” without it being “too much”. Obviously it comes naturally to you, but some of these basics of making it look pretty would be very helpful!
ОтветитьHi Hannah, nice to see you're doing well! Do you do these stretches before you go to your daily ballet class? It's probably necessary for injury prevention? I like your calm demeanor and how you insist on everybody just doing their stretches as far as their own body can handle it and not to try to imitate your abilities if it's going to hurt them. I remember being very bored and impatient with stretching when I was a kid and a teenager, but it's probably more important for dancers than it is for recreational athletes.

On a very different note l am a senior. A few years ago l had a serious (very painful) knee problem. My doctor had X-rays done and it was not patellar dislocation. I remembered having bursitis that felt like my arm was dislocated. He said no. I looked into it. The knee does have bursa, so l did simple ballet steps like demi plié and battement tendu, and a few others. It helped me mitigate the pain until it healed.
