Anyone from 2024
ОтветитьI searched for this cause i know no one explains things like these old videos
ОтветитьI had to make these in this one game called car mechanic simulator 2018 once and i never knew what it did (and what i was doing) till now. Interesting :D
ОтветитьNow they would just put Black Gay to endorse a car and call it a day
ОтветитьMuch better way of learning things than the bullshit we do now
ОтветитьRegardless of the perfect explanation, the English language was very clear and simple. I wonder what that accent is.
ОтветитьAs you know that
Ответить1020 will have any further assistance please contact me at this time to meet you at then end of Canada area near the end
ОтветитьWhile that was the best of its time, that system was pretty much a failure however it led to the development of much better systems in the upper and lower A arm suspension with vertical shocks. You have to start somewhere and that was the beginning.
ОтветитьWould like to point out that leaf spring shock absorbers did exist (as far back as the early 1900's at the dawn of the automobile). Some were based on friction, some were based on spring, somewhere around 1921-22 there was even a rudimentary hydraulic system.
ОтветитьIngenious!
ОтветитьThis helped learn so much when making my first diy go kart
ОтветитьI absolutely love these old infomercials! Seeing the state of primitive suspension systems in the 1920s-1930s - with their white-wall tires! - is an eye-opener. They had a long way to go at the time...
The French had mostly mastered the "soft-ride" issue in 1948 with the Citroen 2CV - but the actual lesson was that French roads were awful, hence the superb soft French car suspension - the future was more about making better roads (enter the Germans and the Asians).
How is this ad teaching me more about physics and automobiles than auto shop class and science class
Yeesh school is ruff nowadays
Soooo much more convincing than modern marketting bullshit… That’s the kind of commercial that do make me want to buy the thing !
It evolved, but backward
I still have all these on VHS tape they are great films absolutely love watching them it's a lot better than the shit they make nowadays
ОтветитьThe best kickstand suspensions, it is satisfactory on my 46 Chevrolet
Ответитьjust 10 years after this video was made the 2cv was put on the market and that car practically defined what good suspension was.
ОтветитьToday this would have been done with CGI/animations. Sometimes I like that these old videos use simple models which can send the message home a little more realistically to help you understand exactly whats going on in the real world.
ОтветитьThis is not a commercial. It is a basic engineering course. Great tuition material.
ОтветитьA
ОтветитьChevy was light years ahead of Ford back then,,, still are.
ОтветитьAt this time there wasn't even a marketing department let alone the term. This was a sales demo not a commercial.. those were not invented until much later to trigger emotion and action.
ОтветитьEngineers should go back to making commercials. Get the marketing guys out!
ОтветитьSolid engineering explanation!
ОтветитьAmerican engineers: we have solved it! Perfectly smooth!
European engineers: what about when the vehicle reaches a corner?
American engineers: a what?
I can’t imagine these suspension system from 1938 are used until these days!!
ОтветитьWhen I first heard about suspension in cars, I thought, “But just attaching the cars to springs wouldn’t reduce the bounce by much.” This video addressed that, and explained from an engineer’s perspective how the springs are made and the clever placement of them.
Ответитьreason why commercials should remain black and white 😉
ОтветитьThis was a commercial? Can we have more of these?
ОтветитьIts funny think there was a time when cars had leaf springs front and rear. Pretty amazing they had figured out the front suspension so early on.
Ответитьa 90 year old clip perfectly answer my 7 year old kids question
ОтветитьOld Companies: Trust and Reliability 😌
New Companies: It's cheaper to lobby than to save lives 😋
Comparing this ‘Dummies 101’ demonstration style against those given today that use made-up words or catchphrases, leaving everyone more confused than before…& often end up being outed as scam businesses that duped investors 😵💫
ОтветитьThis shows how marketing destroyed TV
ОтветитьSame
ОтветитьBomba 👍👍
ОтветитьI like how almost all voices from this era sound like FDR
ОтветитьI love the ending. 10 outa 10 commercial. Pure education and very well made. Funny too❤
Ответить2024 from India😊
ОтветитьI am literally blown away by the intelligence of the ppl back then and their editing. For as old as this I swear this stuff is more entertaining than today’s commercials by a lot.
ОтветитьSo much better than the crazy weirdness they had one year earlier in 37! Check those front suspensions out for a puzzle sometime!
Ответитьso after 100 years , we don't improve the suspension very much
ОтветитьThis video was may be old but that old engineering principles are using nowadays as a trend.
Once again Thank you for this video.
In this video I have got the much more awareness on car suspensions, thanks for the perfect explanation about Chevrolet Suspension. With this I got a clear idea on the working principle of car suspension.
Thank you. 👍
Gonna be honest old commercials make me tired
ОтветитьThe these things rode like boats on a lake. Very good ride 👍🏾
ОтветитьA good ad makes you want to buy the product 80 years after its release
Ответить
