Affinity Designer Quick Start

I’ve been playing around with affinity designer for about 1 year on and off because I can never find any solid videos that HELP. This help significantly. I look forward to an updated video :) I have subscribed ❤️

🤣🤣🤣 I just found out that by the end of 2022, AD still didn't have a knife tool - even AI V3.2 from 1991 had basic snips... Just. Plain. Unbelievable.

Yes, this definitely is one of the best introductory videos on AD. However, it's only talking about what AD CAN do - it's NOT talking about the many, many flaws and shortcomings of the software. I'm in the design business for 25+ years now, and the basic functions MISSING or being poorly implemented in Designer are absolutely mind-boggling. AD is good for very, very basic stuff - and flashy eye candy that will be forgotten tomorrow. If you are hoping for a cheaper alternative to, say, Adobe Illustrator you are out of luck with this software. The most frustrating thing however, is the inactivity from the side of Serif - super-basic functionality that's been a standard in other vector programs since the 2000s still isn't implemented by 2022...

This is a superb overview - explained clearly and easily understood (not being a graphic designer). Are you intending to update for Version 2? Would be extremely helpful.

I want to add to the list of comments that love this series. I have searched for literally hours to find good Affinity Designer tutorials that don't overwhelm you straight away or take forever to teach something. I learned something in about 2 minutes and didn't feel overwhelmed. Plus the voice over is clear, well spoken, and has a happy tone keeping me in a positive mindset whilst tying to learn new software. I would LOVE to see an updated tutorial series for Affinity Designer 2.0 from this same person.

I'm a total newbie to Graphic design and this video is terrific for getting me started ; one slight problem is I have bought AD2: will you be updating this beginners guide to reflect the changes in AD2?

I am completely new to any type of graphic design. I was feeling overwhelmed with the program as it is just so much to learn. Other videos assume people are already familiar with designing and working with a graphics program. They go so fast or use a tool without explanation of how/why. I have learned so much from your video. Absolutely excellent for those that are completely new and a beginner like me that knows nothing. After going through countless videos that did not help me and left me frustrated I found your lessons. Thank you so much!!! I am now confident that I'll be able to learn this and move from traditional paper/paint media to digital art. Again thank you so much!
