Çok güzel bir araba. Türkiye'de en çok sevilen sedan. Fakat artık Passat Sedan üretilmeyecek😢😢

I own one! A 2016 1.4 TSI (150 hp) with DSG 7. Executive package (Swedish market)
Why do I love it? Its suttle but very beautiful, inside out. Ride quality is quiet and excellent, but the engine can still pack a punch. Good spec, low tax and excellent gasmilage adds to the benefits. And. Its superroomy for the family. As I said. I love it 🙂

Paul, I heard VW is discontinuing this model in the next couple of years. I’m considering buying a used one from a dealer for 32K. Do you still think it’s a good buy for what’s on the market at the moment?

I’ve owned a Passat for ju at on 5 years now, started off as my work car which I later purchased.
Still live the vehicle, good driving and smart looking. Whilst it’s the prior model, it’s not very different from the new version other than minor face lift and badging changes - a no regrets purchase 👍

I got a Passat for 12,500 and it is a good and fast car except that it has some issues that are expensive to fix it such as misfiring. I changed the coil packs and pistols only to find out the problem was the manifold which doesn't come any cheap.
I fixed it all for 1450 and then sold the car for 15,500.
I was thinking of keeping it but decided to sell it cuz who knows what is gonna happen next.

I recently bought a Passat Business 2021 model, I traded a Tiguan Comfortline . I love the Passat, I do mostly freeway driving and I’m averaging 6/100. (The Tiguan was 7.5/100 in the same driving) Great room for 4 adults and luggage and I love having a full size spare tyre and alloy wheel.

The only reason I want an SUV is because of ease of throwing pram in the boot and ease of placing child capsule in the rear seat

Who cares for elbow rest, just another excuse not to like VW or either European cars.
What would you people say back in the day inside the elbow rest was metal why they didn't complain about, cause in Australia wasn't any European cars before long time, now they replaced all Aussie cars and here we go complain after complain.

The interior does not look like the 2020 EU-model Passats (digital cockpit etc), is that because you get the (crappier) US-version Passats in Australia, or is this actually the 2018-2019 model being tested? EDIT: second thought, this car has the "Passat" sign in the middle instead of the analog clock, which means it's post-facelift, which must mean it's the American version (since the European post-facelift Passat does not come with an analog instrument cluster at all, it's digital). Weird, why would you import the crappier version?

Appreciate this video is a little old now and I'm a bit late to the party.

I drive a 2016 Passat and love it. After years of Asian and Australian cars this was the first European I purchased...cannot imagine going back to something else. The level of tech and refinement to the car is something that a lot of Asian cars are only now just attaining 6 years later! This car has never skipped a beat.

I do agree with you Paul re the drivers seat, it really isn't super comfortable on the long haul. In fact I would say the drivers seat is the standout flaw/irk of the entire car. The cargo space is flat out amazing. Often been tempted to put on my Petzl and go caving back there ;)

Love the channel.

My older brother bought this car 2 years ago But he did not realize that he bought the car at a higher price. Now he wants to sell it, but he is not getting a fair price for the car, which is why he is now at a loss.

Just test drove one. As a chauffeur, I was delighted that it solved a problem I'd noticed with the Superb - excessive road and general ambient sound intrusion - the Passat seemed a step up in refinement. I also had no issues with transmission smoothness - it was fine. I really liked how it drove. I also love the fact that it has folding seats, and tri-zone climate as standard. It's on my short list for sure.
Note: I test drove the 162 TSI.

I owned 2 some years ago back in the UK. Spent about 6 hours a day on the road and absolutely loved driving both. The last one was a 2L Petrol and was about 6 years old at the time. Also had brand new Renault Scenic at the time which had so many rattles and my Passat was still solid as when it was new. I would not mind owning another if it was not for the wildlife on the roads in Far North QLD. Driving my second Amarok atm and also loving it for the same reasons.

Thinking of getting one of these to replace a Camry rather than look at an Audi A4 or 3 series. This is roomier and comes standard with everything that’s an option package on a “luxury” car that starts at $70k and once optioned up very quickly gets near $85-90k. This barely touches $50k and gives the Mazda6 Atenza and Camry SL a formidable competitor.

Tring to find a competitor for Passat other than Skoda Superb or Audi A4 and stumbled upon this review. Real nice :). It's very interesting for me to see how the Passat is seen in AU. I drive one in Europe, bought it at 170k Km 7 years ago from Germany, now it has 235k Km and never had any real issues with it. It's the estate version, don't know if you get that in AU, if you do I really recommend it. Here it is considered very reliable. Cheers

it puzzles me why VW discontinued Passat in South Africa but introduced a far more expensive cousin (arteon). Passat is widely loved by South Africans as I do see plenty of older models still being used across the country. I say the same for Hyundai Sonata which is Hyundai's premium saloon. The car isn't so much popular in the country, maybe mostly used by chauffeuring companies, but the car is still widely seen in the country. They should bring us latest models of these saloons.

I dont know If these cars are offered in your Country but i'm quite sure about it.

But of course Toyota etc are other alternatives in this class too

Hi Paul. A great review. The Passat is the consummate professional. Quiet, composed, economical, comfortable, spacious, and a I know they are a cracking thing to drive. Why TF doesn't everyone buy one..?? When the lease expires on my company Disco Sport (not my choice, BTW), I'm going straight back to a Passat..!! They are so good..!!

If it were VW Passat vs Skoda Superb..
(use the same chassis)

I'd take the Skoda Superb everytime, in Sportline Plus trim, the Passat is just a bit boring and bland looking except in R-Line trim but then the Passat becomes really quite expensive!

Skoda > V.W

I recently bought a 2008 passat (2.0 tdi) and its very similar to this car in many ways. Its so similar it would almost pass for a facelift. Kind of disapointing really as I only paid $4800 for it and its fully loaded with less than 140k on the odo. I think the reputation for poor reliability has impacted the resale values of these cars
