It's a mix between if you want more of an athletic soldier who is also bulletproof or a bulky, one-man army, Jin Roh's armor is better for speed and is used more as a policing/counter-terrorism operation while also crushing dissendents, while power armor such as the T-40 or T-50 We're made in a war, so they were made to take down Chinese positions by themselves, going through bullets, rockets, and heavy-caliber machine guns. They were made for pure stopping power.

well because of the lore change power armor now requires fusion cores but it makes sense its an actual exo skeleton suit of armor while the wolf brigade is literally basically a standard suit of armor it looks more intimidating and can block most small arms fire but also weighs a shit ton less.

I've never watched Jin-Roh, but I've been wanting to for a very longtime.

id imagine the old Pre-War America would have rocked up into Japan and would have had M3 .50 cal Machine guns into the rebellion, these guys would have been the most team with over 50 United States Military Power armour suits to be welding machine guns.
The things the power armour have
they are able to protect you from any hits or even explosives and can carry heavy equipment machine guns along with them making them invincible and everyone fearing you
what the rebels in the Jin Roh dont have for those people fighting the government, is they cant hold those heavy machine guns
