I wonder if your opinion has changed nowadays. Wasn't able to find a newer RSS video of yours. And since you missed the "show full content" button in newsflash, maybe you can give it another chance? :P
ОтветитьAfter quitting social media I just started using RSS-feeds. Actually I feel quite dumb that I didn't start using it earlier.
IMHO this snippet of the content is fine, it's like a notification on Facebook and other sites. Or the google news snippets here in germany.
Shure, sending the complete content trough RSS would be nice for privacy, but also it would make the stream/ the xml file quite bloated.
And using Newsboat in Terminal, the site in the browser is just an hotkey away.
Therefore I like the Headlines in RSS, bekause it syncs almost instant.
I use Feedly and the experience you speak of is exactly what I want. I want to just see a blurb of the article to see if I actually want to give them clicks to feed their adverts. It's a tool to bring all the news sites together so I can see what's new without clicking on all 80 news sites I have in my RSS feed.
ОтветитьI never used RSS.
ОтветитьI still use RSS and newsboat to filter news and other content from the internet. It's more convenient than going to websites individually.
ОтветитьHaven't ever really used one, no need for it.
ОтветитьI still use RSS a lot, mainly for news and tech sites. Even if the site doesn't have a RSS feed you can just add "/feed" or "/rss' to the end of the url and add it to your reader (works on the majority of sites).
ОтветитьI used it daily.
It better if you have access to a weed reader like inoreader or feedly.
Nope. Back then kept going to sites myself. Besides 12 years ago I feel stumbleupon was still a thing and I loved that. Plus digg ;)
ОтветитьI barely used RSS during its height and I can't say I've used it in over a decade.
ОтветитьMy issue with RSS is a lot of feeds don't do full text articles anymore.
ОтветитьI use RSS and similar news format daily and don't want miss them. It makes the web better in my opinion and the web would suck more without them.
ОтветитьI think your problem is that Linux RSS apps are really, really minimal. Feedme on Android for example has text grabbing services build in, giving you the entire web site in text form. It's basically the perfect RSS app. Has tablet mode too so there isn't really an issue using a mouse.
On Linux I just use newsboat and it can be extended I think.
FreeTube is a good alternative and it does NOT have any bloat or ad.
ОтветитьRSS is cool, don't use it though
