How to use the Etherscan API in 2024

How can I extract the methods from the transactions and build a word cloud of it?

Is it possible to write to contract with the API? From what I understood it only allows reading various information but doesn't let you interact with a smart contract like you can do straight from the webpage. While it would be INCREDIBLY useful if we could read and write information to smart contracts using the API. Because that would mean we don't have to write Dapps, but straight up call whatever function we want from a webpage. It would be profitable for etherscan if they can handle the calls and it would mean instant 1000% smart contract adoption rate.

do you even know how to code? at the begining you're not making any requests to api, you just print the bal string
