Why my text cause light changing in my video when it's pop out?

This is kind of insane... Ctrl+T makes text but I've spent 15 minutes looking for where to type what you want. I've changed font, size, effect, I double click everything that intuitively would be the way to type in the words but it only says 'New Layer Text'
