It’s amazing how they transformed the lovely Gillian Anderson into the detestable creature that was Margaret Thatcher. Also great how they showed the construction of her hair helmet.

At first I thought Anderson did a good portrayal. But the more I watched, the more I felt it was too dissimilar from the real person - it feels like a weird caricature. The mouth expressions are wrong, and the gravelly voice isn’t really accurate either. Thatcher had quite a smooth voice and she was very quick witted.

Bestowing such an honor is one way of preventing Thatcher from ever writing a tell-all book about her dealings with the crown.

Thatcher was what You would called THE BIG BOSS OF THE UK, AND FOR HER TIME IN POWER DID WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE.

Looking back at history, it can be said that Prime Minister Thatcher and President Ronald Reagan were politicians with their own set of flaws. However, they were successful in their efforts to end the Cold War with the Soviet Union. They played a vital role in the eventual collapse of communism in Russia, and in doing so, helped prevent a potential nuclear holocaust.

I admire Ms. Anderson playing this role. I do not admire the person of Ms. Thatcher she is portraying.

After Thatcher's death I saw many British people on their streets screaming "The Witch is dead!".
That is the best recommendation to her era, I think.

Gillian certainly transformed herself completely, But she did a disservice to Mrs. Thatcher. The Prime Minister was a very feminine person and her voice sounded nothing like this at all. Anderson’s portrayal I’m sorry to say is grotesque. A dead ringer for Mrs. Havisham perhaps. They got the hairstyle right, but Margaret was not so brittle.

The woman that plays her in the Coogan Savile series is also very good.

Sadly this was a caricature of Thatcher. In reality, she was the right leader for the UK during the height of the tensions of the Cold War. Any lesser leader would have steered that country as a formidable part of the West into Societ submission. Instead, standing by the side of Ronald Reagan they defeated the Marxist threat.
