It looks like a knock off of a Yamaha 15hp international version or enduro 15 from under the hood I work on outboard for living I can tell by the power head the way the carbs coils are set up

This is a clone of the Yamaha 9.9/15 two stroke. If they did it right parts are all interchangeable. I had their 6hp it was a tohatsu clone, but a very poor copy.

If you buy one the lower unit does not have oil in it. You need to put oil in it before starting it. Trust me.

I’m still going strong with the Hangkai 18hp! Best 1700 bucks I’ve ever spent! Just changed the impeller yesterday. Pushes my 15.5 bass tracker at 19 miles an hour. And the thing sips gas.

I don't know I had a 15 foot aluminum boat. We had 2 people in it. I had a Mercury 9.9hp The boat planed off perfectly faster than you guys were going.. I don't think that thing anywhere near 20hp.

A 264 CC 2 stroke can produce about 9-15 HP. This motor is now sold as a 12 hp.

looks like a 9.9 the way its pushing that boat. an 18 tohatsu (slightly larger block, actually 22hp) would smoke this. I suspect its 18hp at the powerhead, so more like 13-15 at the prop.

mod it so it goes up to a 20 hp

No that is not a major brand with just a sticker change. It’s 100% Chinese made but I would bet that it is a copy of a mercury, Honda or a Yamaha. The Chinese don’t make anything original. They steal the design and go. Why spend all that money on research and development.

So I'll hold off on subscribing to Norm until you get your foot rub. But right after, I'm subscribing to both of you guys! Y'all make me laugh and you remind me of happy times growing up. Cheers!

Well that leaning is due to the totally inadequate boat. With that long foot it's probably made for a sailboat or a kicker for a bigger boat, to get you home after engine failure. For regular use, that's an inappropriate motor for a jon boat. Especially in shallow waters. You guys should get a mud boat and stay in it.
