the heavy cannon is the best gun to make amazing combos, but you must master its alternative attack, you must practice a lot and spend so many times to dominate the switch faster like expert player, the best players use heavy cannon like his main gun

The most advanced stuff in doom eternal I can think of is punch canceling weapon firing, ballista boosting, quick swamp cancel, meat hook momentum slow mo and height advantage,quick switching, and learning which mods fit your play style.

One of the reasons I've used ESDF instead of WASD, since Quake 3. You have more easily-available local keys for weapon binds.

What's helped me the most is actually watching zeromaster speedrun and trying to add many of his playstyles into my own, I rush around like I'm speedrunning but i pick up things and chainsaw / glory kill more than you would going for a speedrun so now when I am in an arena it's just sticky bombs and precision shots taking out weapons so fast I barely even know how I do it.

I completed the game on nightmare without this mechanic but now when I started using it , it's a tremendous difference :3

i bought a mouse with 12 keys for the thumb, just to quickswap easier xD

Weapon switching and getting down the muscle memory so I don't have to look down completely changed the game so I only have to focus on keep moving

so you can't quick switch on controller, damn.

this is something a old mobile game had, it was generally the meta and we called it the 3cs or 3 category spam, one of the reasons why doom eternal felt so much better for me💀👌

Quick tip, use the Super Shotgun's meathook with the flaming chain upgrade to get ammo and armor by using chainsaw!

what if i buy a mouse like the razer naga pro which i kind of want anyway because it has 12 thumb buttons instead of the normal 2 and use that for this

I use the rpg and super shoty as my two switch guns, I haven't yet grasped full auto yet tho

Don’t just learn to swap weapons either. Strafe and dash around the map while quick-swapping, doesn’t it become harder?

For the marauder you can use grenades for an extra amount of stun time
