i vaguely remember watching this with my grandmother around 2 or 3. Im 19 now- I have no idea why i remembered this cartoon today, but im so glad that it exists.

I have searched for this story for years I first saw it when I was 4. i am now near 60 but I've never forgotten the Nightingale who forgave the selfish emperor.

I remember having a VHS tape with this + a few other Mel-O-Toons when I was a kid. Probably still have it lying around somewhere. Out of all of them, this one stuck with me the most. Dunno why, but I always found it somewhat creepy.
