This movie is a joke, it's so bad I could not watch it till the end.
There is not even one thing that's remotely decent in this movie.

Slightly missed the point on this story... HG Wells Story was not about man's struggle against Alien invasion, but rather that of a man surviving such an attack, and finding out that man's war machines and ability to make wars was as nothing to the Martians, but then nature took its course, and the aliens died, thanks to mother nature. A tale of the power of nature. That is the real story, (Plus if its done right, some cool music by Jeff Wayne).

In the book; 1890s british military defeat the aliens, but now 2023 world militaries have a hard time with them? Okay...

Jeff Wayne wanted to do a Centenial concert at The Sandpits, celebrating the anniversary of the book. He got turned down. They didn't want it, the sandpits getting trampled!
It would've pulled in mega money for Woking back then. All that added tourism etc. Nope. Horsell Preservation Society said no. Couldn't use The Rhoda McGaw Theatre in town either.. too small, and the Martian would be too heavy for the stage.
Little minds in Woking. Little minds!

HG had the right idea. Wipe Woking off the map! It'll clear the £2 Billion debt they've now got!

Martians land in the Sandpits. No impact crater at all!
Plod says it'll take the military an hour to get to the Sandpits!
Pirbright is about 4 miles away, approx 15 mins by car, and Aldershot ain't that far either. 12 miles away. 25 mins approx (normal road speeds)

Soldier talking to them in the house, tells them the town is destroyed. Ludicrous, they're on Maybury Hill, they'd hear it being destroyed! It's about a mile away!
To cap that they say, on the walkie-talkie, that they're 3 clicks from the landing site.
It's Horsell Common FFS! it's about 1.5 poxy miles straight down Maybury Hill to the Six Cross Roads then on to Chertsey Road. Stop by the pub. Take a left onto the pathway/road and your there! Quicker if you use the dirt track in the Woods from the roundabout!

Weybridge... 7.5 miles approx. About 15mins by car. (35-40 mins by bike)
Avoid the sandpits. 1.5 miles max from Maybury Hill. (less than 10 mins on a bike.)
They're goint to ride bikes to Weybridge. Then that's down the Old Woking Road thorugh West Byfleet and then on towards Byfleet, still way too near to Pyrford (it's on yer right as you go up the Old Woking Road!) Oh hang on that also leads towards Pyrford! Oh wait, hang on the Martians are there!

That's the second route gone, the other way was Chertsey Road, heading towards Ottershaw (where Ogilvy lived in the book) You thijnk they'd have that one figured out? But Ohhh Nooooo.
Go via Old Woking then? Head towards Send hit the A3, (big deviation) but head towards the Seven Hills Road and onto Weybridge. All routes are a joke!

That's as far as I got in the movie.
I gave up after that!
Riddled with plot holes. Just as bas as that dire offering that was on The Beeb a few years ago.
Yet another botched effort at making a movie about this classic from HGW!

3-10 and that's being generous!

The fact you got a roadman yoot to butcher the intro dialogue makes me want to burn every copy of this in existence. I cannot express enough how much you've sullied this national treasure of a story by making this Gen Z action comedy mess. I hope with every fibre of my body that this and all those associated with making it never succeed in life. 😊
