I love redos! A happy gardener is always changing things up. Nothing wrong with throwing plants out that no longer please you ( or moving them). Looks great!
ОтветитьI really like your transformation! Great choices of plants and trees. Looks great!❤
ОтветитьLove the new look
ОтветитьIt looks gorgeous and you planned it out beautifully. That’s my whole problem. I don’t know where to put things and I always put things too close together but I just love it it’s absolutely beautiful.
ОтветитьWhat a beautiful property. 🌲🪻🌼🌺
ОтветитьAbsolutely gorgeous, Mary! What a blessing to have John’s help. I love seeing you both work together. ❤ Your content and your demeanor inspire me! I just want you to know how much I appreciate you! God bless! ❤
ОтветитьPerfect change❤
ОтветитьLove it , don't touch it! Jeff
ОтветитьAbsolutely beautiful!
ОтветитьIt looks great!! I love all the ‘green’ you have around your house. Living in Southern California, we’re often in a drought, so having a green garden is nearly impossible or it comes with water restrictions. You’ve made your home beautiful. So glad I found your channel.
ОтветитьMary how large do the green giant Arborvitae get?
ОтветитьI love your transformation of the garden!! ❤❤❤
ОтветитьI love the trees!! Lush and beautiful! ❤❤❤
ОтветитьNice
ОтветитьYes! Would take those things out there on the left in the upper part as you did. With vertigo I really don't enjoy the driving part of the show. Now will watch at the nursery❤
ОтветитьThose stop signs got ran lmao
ОтветитьAmazed at how much better it looks! This is going to be hard to hear after all that hard work. It is such a shame... but you can keep a lot of it.... the arborvitae will put on 3-4' of growth per year and grow to be 40-60' high. I don't think you want to block your view there do you? Also, the spruce will get 15 - 20' so it will not fit with the redbud there. Maybe get a globe blue spruce to go there and a dwarf arborvitae? I was like, "oh that looks so good. Wait, it's baby maybe that means it stays small. NOPE." I have had such a time with spacing in my landscapes I learned the very hard way;). Look forward to hearing what you plan to do. You have beautiful taste!
Ответитьwe all should be so lucky to have our houses nestled in between beautiful trees! I think your house and yard look amazing with them!
ОтветитьJust came across your channel. I love what you did with the renovation. ❤
ОтветитьBeautiful
ОтветитьLooks absolutely gorgeous!! Love the way it all came out!! ...However, I am concerned about the placement of your Green Giant Arbs. They get 50 to 60ft tall and 12 to 20 ft. wide. And they grow pretty quickly. Your stone path would disappear and be blocked, unless you plan on massively trimming them every year. The Emerald Green Arb. grows narrow, pyramidal, and quickly gets tall, making a great privacy element.
ОтветитьVery nice landscape, once a redbud tree is established it has seed pods that drop off in early fall and you will get Redbud saplings sprouting in your flower beds you can transplant. Redbud trees are prolific in Kentucky, Virginia and Tennessee Appalachian region. I live in southwestern Ohio and have several in my yard that originally came from my family’s Kentucky homeplaces.
ОтветитьIf you have clay soil, you can leave pebbles/ pea sized rocks, as they will help the roots to establish. Clay soil is really tough for roots.
ОтветитьLove the trees
ОтветитьThey add mystery to your garden and encourage you to come see the beauty
Ответитьbig mouth too much talking
Ответить🎉A FABULOUS TRANSFORMATION!🎉 Your hard work paid off! Enjoy!
P.S. If I may suggest, I don't know if you watch Garden Answer, but on that channel Laura uses Espoma's BioTone in just about every new planting & it works--- I never plant without it. I hope that helps, especially for your tree! ❤🌳🌱🍃🌲
I would trim that large bush, get rid of it or maybe transplant it. That would make it a little more welcoming from the road. I think the trees are fine. I'd love to have a front deck and yard like that.❤. And I love the final look. I know the rocks are difficult sometimes, but you are really fortunate that you don't have to buy as much to get that look! Have a beautiful weekend!
ОтветитьThe new garden is lovely! It seems less cluttered and will provide interest in all seasons. Great choices too, I adore the Eastern Redbud as I am from Coastal North Carolina and they really thrive here. Just beautiful Mary =)
ОтветитьIt’s not the trees so much as the large shrubs that are distracting from the house itself. Try cutting those down to a foot or two high and you’ll see a big difference.
ОтветитьMary can you share Yoders address, I’d like to stop by there the next time I visit. Thank you 😊
ОтветитьBeautiful transformation!
ОтветитьI searched for garden design in YT and this video came up. I love what you have done with this space. It's totally different and so much better. I love the "negative space" between the plants. They will get bigger but I like the space between. I'm not a ground cover person and I guess that's why. Anyway, hello from Vancouver Canada. I will check out your other videos!
ОтветитьTwo things to add. what was missing from the before and maybe why you felt it was not pleasing most of the year is as you corrected it, it was lacking foundational plantings that give a structure to the space year round. so the latter plantings and stepping stones fixed that. You essentially had a 100% spring garden, and expected to have visual interest year round. I feel that your choice with the addition of the evergreens as a foundation was spot on, and the deciduous tree were a good remedy, however It appears it will be a future project as how close they were planted. That juniper may be too large in the future so close to that deciduous tree. That may not be the case if you went off the labels, but your viewers may be misguided without elaborating on the plantings.
The other thing I must add is the way the plants were installed. For all those viewing, if you can plant this many things in a short time, perhaps it looks good now, but in the future those root bound plants from the nursery simply must not be dumped straight into the hole like that. The roots need to be cleaned up and arranged like spokes on a wheel for future health and prosperity of the plantings.
Also be careful about amending soil, nutrients go on top of your planting, not mixed in the soil at time of planting. Choose your plants by the soil type they can adapt to, that matches with what your existing soil is.
Also, dig your holes in advance, and fill them with water to test drainage in advance. I've lost a couple of trees in this type of a situation on high ground. Test before you need to plant.
I dont like trees covering the front of a house. Just recently made the decision to cut some of ours, after similar thoughts to yours
ОтветитьI like it!😊
ОтветитьI am always amazed at how you can work in your flip-flops! I'd trip, break an ankle or crush a toe! Love your channel! Keep posting. Thanx
ОтветитьIt is beautiful! It is perfect if it makes your heart sing.
ОтветитьKeep the trees!!
ОтветитьKeep the trees!!
ОтветитьThe more trees the better!
ОтветитьI would totally keep all the trees in the front!! It’s beautiful IMO.
ОтветитьLooks great. The different shades of green play off each other perfectly.
ОтветитьOh I love how it looks. I hope you didn't cut those. Trim the branches that are blocking the path maybe.
ОтветитьBeautiful
ОтветитьYour landscape turned out beautiful!!!
ОтветитьIf gardening was ever done, it would cease to be fun. It is our place to create...each day. It looks marvelous.dont lose the red leafed tree in front of the house. You and the birds would miss it. I would shorten the shrub in front of the red leaf tree to open that area up. Clean up and maintenance and change up in the garden brings the same satisfaction cleaning house and rearranging furniture and adding a bouquet in house brings. There would be no bored housewives if they kept their homes for their families like you do. Always enjoyable. Thank you. I am on break from yard cleanup watching you do same. Lol.
ОтветитьLOOKS LIKE YOU RAN THE STOP SIGINS
ОтветитьSo pretty! We have lived in our home for 43 years and it is ever evolving!
