great song one of all time classics just to set the record straight as good as Cat Stevens was and lets face it he was better than good but he never sang this song that honor is with the the great man himself Harry Chapin but with another twist to the saga that is Cats in the Cradle Chapin did not write the song either, in fact it was not written to be a song. Chapin's wife wrote it as a childrens short story. I just wish Cat Stevens sorted this debate long ago because as we all know about the untimely and tragic death of Chapin he [Stevens] is the only one credible enough to set this straight im sure he would never intentionally poach a song from anybody he was is to good a song writer to do that he did not need to cover any ones songs.

This song is so special to me, in 1974 my son was born and he had an absent father.. he grew up a great person, he never became a father or husband, ya see in 1994 he was murdered. So I listen to this song a lot because it takes me back to that little newborn and a happier time.
