Could I add brown rice flour? Or Sub for it for Gypsum
ОтветитьWould using filtered drinking or distilled water be better to use if we have very hard tap water as a precautionary measure? Im not sure if having such hard water will hinder any part of the process
ОтветитьDo you have a video on manure + coir substrate recipe ?
ОтветитьGreat vid
ОтветитьPGT how many 6qt shoe boxes is this the CVG mix for ?
ОтветитьHmmm - I didn't have a brick of coir - just a bag of loose stuff. I weighed out 650g, and it came out VERY soupy. Bizarre
ОтветитьHello, I have two questions: I am thinking about using a substrate of: Mix of seeds (bird food), brown rice flour, flaxseed flour, vermiculite, glucose. Do the ready-made jars have an air filter? When the jars are colonized, can I remove and transfer the substrate to a grow box. That is, can I hurt the mycelium(damage) Thanks in advance
ОтветитьShould i sterizilze my coco coir?
ОтветитьWhat is the ratio and how much substrate you use? Lets say now my mycelium is fully grown on the grain and I'm ready to plant it. So how much substrate do I use if I have total of grain ready 500g, what are the ratios anyone? Thanks!
ОтветитьDoes anyone else thoroughly enjoy the smell of that steamy freshly hydrated coir?
ОтветитьIf you mix up the cvg. How long is it good till you actually use it? And van u affbwatet if been a while since mixed.? Leta say jumped the gun . Ty
ОтветитьHow many of your 12 qt tubs does this fill??
ОтветитьCan you use just any type of coco coir or does it specifically have to be the ones in brick form?
ОтветитьThank you for this video, im just getting into this as a new hobby and ive learned a lot.
ОтветитьWhy not use cow sh!t?
ОтветитьSo are you using the same amount of vermiculiute and gypsum? Coir weight x5?
ОтветитьHow many quarts of CVG are made with your CVG recipe?
ОтветитьWhat do you reckon is the best spawn to bulk ratio? Like I think I'm confident to start trying to make both the substrate and the grainspawn, but all the guides I've seen don't make much mention of the relationship betwee the two in terms of ratio.
ОтветитьHow long will the coir last/ be safe to use if kept in sealed bucket at room temp?
Ответитьwouldn't pouring hot water into a plastic bucket leech chemicals?
ОтветитьCan grow truffle ?
ОтветитьDo i have to sterilize this bulk? And why not?
ОтветитьWhat's the difference bout cvg and straight coir? Thanks
ОтветитьI know question isnt to do with the video but i have grain bags coming and im not ready for them. Im wondering how i can store them and how long i can store them. Im kinda panicking at the ninute.
ОтветитьHow much does this yield?!
ОтветитьYour explanation for field capacity is excellent! What a great way to get the right amount to viewers! I was struggling with that part! Careful breathing in the dust from vermiculite it contains asbestos! Thanks so much for this video!
ОтветитьCould i possibly boil my water in a 1100w microwave?
ОтветитьHey PGT does this work with dung loving mushrooms? Thanks for all of the amazing content, you've helped me so much!!
ОтветитьI tried this method last time, that was the first time btw
And, unfortunately, my cvg was waaaay too much hydrated 😔
I had to squeeze it up to get rid of all the water.. i don't know what i did wrong 🤷♂️
I like you
Ответитьa couple of questions..if it is not too late..
I live in the Philippines and coconut coir is readily available as loose non-sterile bulk in rice bags.
I can get "builders lime" aka hydrated lime to alter the ph
I can get gypsum
I can get wheat/rice bran
I am growing mostly oyster varieties in a large "Martha" style tent
:questions...
1...does loose coir hydrate by weight as the brick coir?***
and..is this pasteurization process ok for non-sterile coir?
2...do i need the lime?..or is coir acidic enough as is?
3...do i need the gypsum at all?
4... or the wheat bran?
5... rice hulls are readily available here whereas vermiculite is near impossible to find other than import.
can i supplement for aeration with that?
appreciate any reply...
Does it need to be pressure cooked?
ОтветитьHope you see this. Will it negatively effect CVG if it is not mixed at the 6-8 hr mark and closer to 12 hours?
ОтветитьSo just the boiling water will make it pure enough?? Without infections? Like I don't need to stabilize it more???
ОтветитьGreat work on your videos. Thank you for the recipe up front.
ОтветитьDo you pressure cook your substrate or just mix it in with your grain?
ОтветитьSo this is 2 options you can choose? Or you need both of them?????
ОтветитьCan I use perlite instead of vermiculite?
ОтветитьWhat do you do with the left over??
ОтветитьWhat are those 5 gallon buckets used for in the USA? I live in the UK and they don't sell those here. I need to find an alternative.
ОтветитьHow many ml is a cup ?
ОтветитьMy brick was 637g so I added 3185g of water (1:5 ratio). It was so wet I had to add 3 quarts of vermiculite to get to field capacity.
Clearly there’s a wide margin in water holding capacity of coir based on all the comments here , so I will probably do 1:3 coir:water ratio going forward then add more water as needed.
Wish I’d read the comments first. I followed the directions for cvg and mine has way to much water. With that said this is the first time you’ve steered me wrong. You’ve been my teacher along with Willy but he takes to long to get to the point of the video.
ОтветитьEverything so expensive nowadays, can't find coco coir for less than $7 anywhere, at this point it would be cheaper to buy pre sterilized grain bags.
It is expensive not because of the price, but because of what it gives you, Surfin Spore charges $13 for 10 pounds of CVG thats only twice the price of a single coco coir brick nowadays.
Does anyone know where to buy material for CVG substrate for a cheapper price?
How long will the substrate hold the correct field capacity? How long can you store it?
ОтветитьDo you need to sterilize this mixture before using it?
ОтветитьMy first time I went for only a small amount of inoculated green so I have so I have more than a half a bucket left of CBG. It's been sitting there awhile can I use it for another run
ОтветитьSorry if someone's asked this, how long do these substrates stay safe to use? I just spawned some UB bags to bulk using the coco coir recipe (I meant to add the vermiculite and gypsum but forgot so I just used coco coir. I still had a decent amount of substrate left over in the bucket but threw it out since it'll be a couple weeks before I need it again.
Is it safe to store in the bucket with lid and use at a later date? If so, how is it safe to use after making? Thanks!😊
How much more water do you use in the CVG recipie?
Ответить
