None of this fixed it for me. I believe I needed to switch from windowed mode to full screen mode. I used the Nvidia Geforce experience and had it apply the optimal settings. One of the things it did was change to full screen from windowed mode. But those optimal settings fixed it.

Interesting. I've just upgraded from my old gtx970 to a 4060ti. OW2 started stuttering. OW settings have been changed from ultra to medium and all other games (pubg, warzone, elite dangerous have all gone from med/low to high/ultra and are fine. It's only OW2 and it's only in the last 3 weeks.

I'm running a 5800X and a 2080 Super and just recently I've been getting massive frame hitches in game even though I'm running at a consistent 165 fps. It's winter in Australia so my CPU is running at under 40 degrees and my GPU is running under 50 degrees.

I specifically lowered my graphical settings because I want my PC to run cool and quiet in summer months and now it's winter, running practically silently, and I'm still getting these frame hitches.

I have a ryzen 7 7700X and RX 7900xt and I'm having drops from 600fps to 80fps bruh (medium settings)...... I know that 600 fps is useless, but even drops from 144 to 80 is very bad from these components

i was playing at 1 in the afternoon and for 8 games i was put in laggy servers for 6 hours only now i can play but with shit tons of lag

didnt work literally at 4 frames

fixed my issue. I have a mid-high end machine (can no longer be considered high end nowdays because cpu is 4 years old ;_; ) and I would experience 3 consecutive stutters back to back, once every round. it would happen at one point and only once. I could see my frames fluctuate about 20 fps during these stutters. Idk which particular setting did it, but I changed 3 of the settings mentioned. added -threads 3 , forced rended scale to custom 100%, and set max frame rate to +50 above my actual monitor refresh rate. So far so good. hopefully it's gone for good.

fastest fix : Just reinstall it

yea ive been having random stutters and when i play cass his gun will do this really annoying double shot thing that messes me up. ive tried so many things so hopefully this vid will help
edit: ok little update, i typed in the threads command and i dont think it changed anything but that doesnt mean its not a good solution for someone else. surprisingly i turned my fps cap down to 250 cause i had it maxed at 600 and i think that helped some(also i noticed my pc isnt getting AS hot now lol). i doubt this will completely fix the issue but it looks like it was pretty helpful. this just seems like it has something to do with the game and not anything to do with my wifi. i used to be able to run the game at pretty high graphics and having the fps capped to 600 was never an issue so it definitely has to do something with one of the updates but im not too sure.

I ran overwatch 2 at 200 fps and randomly, it just can’t handle anything it sits at 70 fps and drops to 30 a lot idk the problem I have a nvidia 3060 did everything I possible can

None of these worked but if you change your setting on options will stop some studering and lag just lower graphics and resolution on settings in game

I don't know why but I'll get terrible audio lag and frame drops for about 30 seconds and then it goes back to normal. Does that every couple minutes and Idk why it does that. I've tried everything

I’m on a next gen console and whenever someone leaves or joins my games I get a hella bad lag spike/frame rate drop(like 5fps) for a second or two and usually I’m in a fight then end up turned around when I come out of it and then die immediately

Currently the game only stutters when moving the mouse and character at the same time. If I strafe without looking around or only look around the game is incredibly smooth. I have a 3060RTX and can run the game comfortably above 144.

I literally updated my drivers the other day and now my OW 2 went from perfectly smooth no stutters or framedrops during team fights. Now I can’t get away from random weird stutters and drops and the game feels impossible to play competitively

It baffles me how little game changed visually yet I played the first one in low to normal settings with 60 fps. Now i have a pixelly MESS on my screen and it cannot even reach 60, staying 20-30 in matches. Thats bs, they just stole my comfort game and gave me this abomination of a game

For those of you in need, I was experiencing an issue that made my entire game lag on start up. The menu would take like 3 minutes to fully load and it would constantly freeze every 2-3 seconds. After it settled it would be fine but when I went into a match, it was like 3 frames per second always. I had played the game for 2 weeks just fine and then suddenly this happened. I tried everything to fix it, checking my drivers for errors, updated drivers, updated windows, scanned and repaired the game files, deleted the game and reinstalled multiple times, switched the game over to my ssd, changed the in game graphic settings to the lowest, turned off game bar and game mode, turned off discord hardware acceleration, tried multiple commands, disabled Microsoft root enumerator, and some more that I cant remember. But after all that, nothing. Then I tried to delete both the game and the launcher and after reinstalling it again it finally worked. So if you haven't already delete the launcher and the game and try to reinstall it.

Best settings for less freezings helped a lot, thank you 🎉
