Or that you'd lose your job because you spent 4 days in jail because a store cashier "didn't like your tone." These are people that can easily ruin and/or end people's lives. They should be held to (at least) a bit of a higher standard. Especially since we're paying for them.

Evan Gorman (Child beater) who assaulted me while detained the police did nothing and when I requested a FOI to try and find out why they dismissed the complaint they refused to share. Interesting - my last encounter with two of my areas finest, both of them wearing body cams yielded different results ... seems that something (insert shrug) caused both of their cameras to stop working at the same time for the same amount of time and then they miraculously blinked back into recording. So fighting fire with fire, I now have not one but two body cameras of my own - no bigger than a bic, very discreet, one is set to video with sound and if for some reason (insert shrug) I am "asked" to surrender it, the second one is neatly hidden and recording sound :)
You don't have to be armed to be prepared.
And no, I don't trust the police; they lie, they cheat, they break the law, they stalk intended victims and make their lives hell.

As stated by the supreme court, law enforcement is not there to protect individuals. Is there to keep the public at large genuinely safe, control of a particular type laws and Road Rules and enforce laws at both local, state, and federal levels. That's about it. You as a person, you don't get protection from the police because that's not their job

Body cameras are a no brainer. They increase accountability and provide protection form false allegations against officers.

What "A few bad apples" leaves out is that rot spreads easily when you are close to the source. "A few bad apples" is what's visiblily rotten.
And that report purging thing, holy crap, civilians don't get to purge their criminal records, why the fuck should the police be allowed to unless they want to have the right to indiscriminatly kill people.

It also seems staggerling awful that police in the USA seem to focus on being allowed to use force, but police in the UK for all their faults are trained to de-escalate without force.

As somebody who has been to prison just for smoking weed, the systemic lack of accountability for police makes me believe that "the law" is nothing more than a weapon to use against poor people.
