Social security isn't government handouts. We paid into it for our entire working careers.

OK, it's time to interject some truth into this social security conversation. The truth is they have broken the system. You see, what they're not telling you, and people on it know this, is that it's not at all uncommon for it to take years to go through the evaluation process. Also, it's widely known that you will be denied a couple of times before approval. I know this to be true because it took me 3 years. During that time, I was in excruciating pain and quite literally was confined to my apartment because I could not walk. I was in need of knee replacement, had gastrointestinal rupture, and had spinal fusion surgery.

Most all on social security know the problems there has been in contacting the ss administration for anything is a tedious and frustrating process that can entail over an hour on hold only to be disconnected and having to start the process all over again. It's been that way since remote working during covid.

If it was thar bad then, I don't have to imagine what it will be like as they get rid of more employees. They're already shutting down portals, making an already frustrating process unbearably stressful. I am a veteran, and being physically unable to work or obtain financial assistance made me experience homelessness after having abdominal surgery and still in need of a total knee replacement thar was diagnosed in 2008. I didn't get that surgery until March of 2024 and am still recovering.

I say all this to say that what this administration is doing to that agency is more devastating than these anchors are expressing. They make it appear thar a sooth running system will now have slight delays. No, the personnel cuts will crippled an already limping system.
