damn repairs are expensive, had literely nothing on my old 2005 bmw e60 with m54 engine, just regular oil change. but hey you add up with "fuel" consumption which is realy close to none when you compare it to gas engines.
Ответитьit doesn't make sense to have different gas/gallon assumptions?
ОтветитьWow, main takeaway- never own an EV out of warranty
ОтветитьYou should probably factor in re-sale value between the cars. In theory, the Tesla is near end of life for the second battery if it last the same number of miles as the first one.
ОтветитьI got $176,000 mi on my Toyota and it's only been serviced one time for a I do all my own oil changes and all the other things like spark plug replacement
ОтветитьOwning this car sounds like a huge gamble...
ОтветитьTesla had a 145k miles warranty?? When...?
ОтветитьDealership transmission change for Subaru is $300.....
ОтветитьThank you. Your story has proven again that people who want a joy and these who value their time, should avoid American built vehicles. For example I owned Acura RL (built in Japan) for 11 years. My TCO for Acura was
< 1000$.
BMW 5 series (built in Germany). Owned for three years. TCO zero.
The new packs are a lot better, Thats why the model 3 and Y have a lot better statistics for repairs and mies on original batteries and motors.
Ответитьsorry but your vid is CRAP you have never owned an Audi so showing any numbers for it was a waste. not to mention its an expensive car to buy/repair since it German. my best guess since you didnt say how much that tesla was but I know it started at no less then 81k, so going off your price of 20k more the Subaru was only 3700 more then the tesla at 300k miles. But you never got you Subaru to 300k miles. Again a waste of a vid. next you MUST include the sale price of the cars at 300k+ miles. would someone buy such a car NOT likely but I would take a 300k mile Subaru over any used tesla ANYDAY. no one wants to buy a used tesla or any other electric car as is even under 100k vs 300k miles. If you used any honda or toyota you would have lost any $$ battle to 300k. My junk 2003 ford focus is doing better then you I got it for $4k with 78k miles I have had it for 6 years its at 186k miles and I have put less then 3k into it. Iam stull under 10k total and your sitting at over 100k. But I must say I don't think my car will last to 300k miles but that doesn't matter IF I had such money that would currently give me around 90k $ to buy something and It would only take 1 toyota or honda hybrid to crush you even more and leave me with 50k in the bank.
Ответитьwhere do you live as in Region or state. It is cold in Nebraska and hot.
ОтветитьPeople complain I’ve never even owned a ICE vehicle that’s been over 130k and most new vehicles will not make it to 200k without repairs
ОтветитьThank you for this video. I'd like to see a comparison of the Tesla purchase/maintenance cost to a comparably priced Lexus or Acura instead of Audi because Audis are crap. :)
ОтветитьYou would have gone through at least 3 motors on the Audi in 300000 miles.
ОтветитьNeed hybrids that are all electric drive for torque, gas generator for reliable power feed, no big battery = no battery issues or reliance on China
ОтветитьHelpful commentary. Can't help but be atracted to Tesla. A friend has his and hers Model 3s and both commute 40 min in the opposite direction. Working out well for them. Have had an EV (Leaf) and a PHEV(Clarity). Neither handled MN winters very well, unfortunately.
ОтветитьThis is BS
ОтветитьI just watched your video and I really enjoyed it! Your video was well-made, informative, and entertaining. I especially liked the way you explained the topic in a clear and concise way. I also appreciate the way you included relevant details in your video.
Overall, I thought your video was excellent! I would definitely recommend it to others who are interested in learning more about the topic.
The only reason the overall operating costs look reasonable is because Sean was fortunate enough to get the first battery replacement under warranty. The second battery is due for replacement soon and that will skew the operating costs skyward.
Imagine if any Subaru requires $20k battery and a $6k motor every 150K miles? Would anyone be gullible enough to pay for that?
I’m at 208,135 miles and had my battery replaced at 80,000. It still going strong today. Would I buy it again, yes. I still love it like the very first time I bought it. I have 5 cars. Nissan Rouge, Lexus UX, F150 hybrid, Jeep Rubicon and Tesla is by far the best.
ОтветитьCar as a service, No thanks.
ОтветитьJeez i'll stick with my gas engine 1 service every 2 years for the last 10 years and no huge replacements like you had
ОтветитьI own an A6 diesel Audi. Very low running costs, very reliable, economical on fuel.
ОтветитьWhat wasn’t fixed or replaced in that Telsa? Who would own one?
Forget the fuel savings. Just not worth it. The resale value would be next to nothing. For a 10 years old car.
So a 100 thousand mile used model 3 for under 19 thousand would be worth it
ОтветитьSooo... How much would it cost if you had kept leasing a new Model S for 300k miles?
ОтветитьUnreliable, and two suspensions, safety sounds like it should be considered, and highly unreliable. What would the cost be if you didn't have warranty?
ОтветитьTo many problems, i have a 10 year old lexus, that i have only done oil changes, and 2 sets of tires.
ОтветитьWhat a pain, those problems are huge.
ОтветитьSorry but the reliability of Tesla appears to be plain horrific and if you just extrapolated that to estimated repair costs of Audi and Subaru that's a big mistake.
ОтветитьAs a Toyota owner, that sounds like a very high maintenance vehicle.
ОтветитьVery interesting comparison with reasonable numbers
ОтветитьYou would be better off leasing.
ОтветитьIT'S REAL TRUE!! *Tesla Model 3 Total Cost After 10 Years =20k for Battery/10years + $ Suppercharged/Home (+) SERVICES/Maintainance = TOO MUCH?? *Hond/Toy 2024 Total Cost After 10 Years = 0,636k for 02-Battery/10years + $ Gas (+) SERVICES/Maintainance = VERY CHEAP!! Why... ??

ОтветитьTesla is like Apple. Many owners of Tesla cars and iPhones are cultlike loyal followers.
ОтветитьI guarantee the subaru would not accrue $28k in maintenance and repairs over 300k miles
ОтветитьThat is a shit ton of repairs, holy cow
ОтветитьSu _BA _ Ru😅
ОтветитьYou left out tire and brake pad /shoe replacement. The car weighs more than twice as much as most other IC econoboxes, do tire & brake consumption double? What about mileage degradation in sub zero (F) temperatures?
ОтветитьI'm a big fan of my polestar 2. EV all the way. However, one thing that bothers me is, almost every "long term" review of EVs has a battery failure. Makes me want to just lease until battery failures become a thing of the past.
ОтветитьPaid advertisement.
Puppet scammer .
Your battery will be toast at around 130k miles and you’ll be up for $20 grand.
11 Cent/kWh is crazy cheap!
In Germany we pay about 35 Cent/kWh on average. 🙈
No mention of 300k of zero tailpipe emissions. That's a huge bonus who you've ever driven past.
ОтветитьFriggin excessive for a one trick pony
Ответить16 services in 1 year that’s insane 🤣 why would someone do this to themselves
ОтветитьNo human created global warming = no need for EVs with flashlight batteries
ОтветитьDid you pay road taxes on the electricity for the Tesla?
Ответить
