Why you should play a SURVIVAL HUNTER in WoW Shadowlands!

I just started playing again after about 9 years, I saw the changes to survival and I just sat there so confused. I'm gonna give it a shot though because this video made it look pretty fun.

I love survival Hunter, but it would be a tough sell to a CE raid leader to let me play a melee over what MM is right now.

"mongoose bite is mandatory and should be baseline" whoa, hold up, nah, i'm done, im out, cya. Mongoose aint even viable at these haste levels, in any content. Only build that uses it in 9.0 is nesingwary's and that build still smokes dick.

SV Hunter is pretty cool! I wish Blizz would experiment a bit more instead of doing same 'ol same every addon. There's potential for Shaman and (Demo?) Warlock Tanks (as we have no Mail and Cloth tanks yet) and for Outlaw to be a ranged class as a vice-versa to SV Hunter. I'd totally dig those.

The only way SV hunter world be good (in pvp) is if they somehow got a permanent buff to movement speed (like 30% movement), then they'd be able to really take advantage of their hybrid quality.

As of now, most classes just have too many tools to close gaps or create separation.

I started a hunter to play something on distance, to chill in the back. Then I tried survival and I love it. Now I’m playing nothing else.

It was 100% the right choice. Before Legion, the number 1 reason, that kept me from playing hunter was the fact, that I could decide between standing there and shoot enemies with a bow or stand there and shoot enemies with a bow or..... I could stand there and shoot enemies with a bow a bit less powerful but my pet bites a bit more powerful to compensate.
Before, Hunter always felt like it could just be deleted and added to rogue as a forth specc. The whole class was super 1 dimensional and all 3 speccs felt basicly the same with a different color.

Bro! You were doing FINE until you started with the "Mongoose should be baseline!" nonsense...If anything, Flanking Strike and Infusion should be baseline. Mongoose Bite is a specific talent that changes the entire flow of the spec forcing your damage profile into small windows, which, while neat and sometimes useful, isn't something that should be baseline.

Soul doesn't even main Hunter, let alone specialize in SV play. It's a pet project at best for him. I'd rather watch people who commit to it fulltime. I would do it myself if I can determine it competes with MM on frontal burst.

Can't remember... Think SV Hunter in tbc was still a ranged spec. Focusing on raid debuff with final talent at the time, expose weakness, increases damage taken by 5% i think .. seems like every progressive raid had 1 SV Hunter to apply this debuff. Sv melee niche at the time allowed to offtank along side your pet .. not as good as rogues but still fun

Umm... Not to argue, but in ICC back in the day i made MM hunters cry with survival. Back then it was all about DOTs and cooldowns. Then blizzard gimped my hunter with melee only, and i quit wow
