Ganymede is huge—even bigger than Mercury—but otherwise it looks uninspiring to me and just a lot like our own Luna🌛. Eris is another contender being so dense and massive and we mustn’t forget that this dwarf planet, once considered dwarf planet Pluto’s moon, has a moon itself: Dysnomia! That’s not only cool, it’s downright cryogenic 🥶

of course, the best scenario would that the international community works on a moon base together, thus removing the need to claim any land, because everybody would use it together. On the other side, if a nation goes up there and claims some land, who's gonna do anything about it? Would anyone spend millions and millions to fly up there and tell them no? I doubt it.

"International Law" does not exist. Laws are made and enforced by governments, and there is no international government.
There are treaties, but those only apply to countries that have signed them and even among the signatories have dubious authority.

To think that we're going to avoid conflict and warfare during our exploitation and expansion into space is to think like a child.
