Sorry Jason but your history is slightly off, the original inhabitants of Cyprus were not Greek.

Please continue to support and promote the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The country has been left out in the cold for far too long and deserves its place in the sun.

The Turkish side of the island is much better to visit than Larnaca, on the south side of the island which is all sullen and resentful Greeks.

DO NOT VISIT the northern occupied part of Cyprus. If you do, you help with your money the Turkish invaders. Turkey did in 1974 exactly what Russia does now to Ukraine

Turkish Cypriots live there since about 450 years. And the western people think Turkish Cypriots are invaders. If Turks were invaders they would have saved 100 % of the island instead of 30 % in 1974.

But the western people are unjust.

Cyprus's 'State of Emergency': Turkey's 'Weaponization' of Illegal Mass Migration..The Cypriot government says that Turkey is orchestrating this illegal immigration crisis, as most migrants coming to Cyprus travel from Turkey. They reportedly fly from Istanbul or Ankara to the Turkish-occupied north of Cyprus, are then smuggled to the free, southern part of the Republic of Cyprus, and from there, under EU law, can apply for asylum.

On September 11 of this year, the EU recognized the instrumentalization or "weaponization" of migration by Turkey....

In 1974, Turkey invaded the Republic of Cyprus and forcibly displaced the indigenous Greek Cypriots from the north in a violent ethnic cleansing campaign, accompanied by murders, rapes, forced disappearances and other atrocities.

Since then, Turkey has implemented policies meant to erase the Hellenic identity and civilization of occupied northern Cyprus.

Jason ... Big respect for recognising the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus , your always welcome to our homeland.

Just to celar up a comment , CYorus predate teh EU and the borther has been in existance prior to EU presnece. The reason there is a hard border is becuase the island remianed uunder ceasefire .

The beautiful universal sound of children laughing and playing bonds us all. Children do not care about these flags and borders that have been put up to limit and bind us. God willing the children will use this power to one day tear down these walls and unite us all.

The passport control in the south is CYPRIOT, it is conducted by the authorities of the Republic of Cyprus and Greece has no involvement in it, so it is not Greek as you named it...enough with this casual and lazy misconception that Cyprus is divided by Greece and Turkey. The north is OCCUPIED TERRITORY OF THE REPUBLIC OF CYPRUS and the south is THE REPUBLIC OF CYPRUS (AKA INDEPENDENT COUNTRY).

Also, border crossings from the north to south were still possible even after the capture of the north by Turkey. However, the opposite became possible only in 2003 because up to that point Turkey opposed it.
