Blue line buses were initially red line buses, but the authorities changed the color to blue assuming red color is inauspicious and causing many accidents.
However, the accidents continued, and as a result they were scrapped.

I'm 90s kid I've grown seeing all this on Delhi roads I use to travel in blueline and DTC diesel bus with my parents everyday in traffic hours and jam packed buses

Wow! Not a single woman to be seen anywhere.
This extreme patriarchy has eroded away a bit over the years.
I first experienced Delhi in 2002 and since more women were seen on the roads, I witnessed harrassment, touching and cat-calling by the males. The girls from the Northeast faced extremely brutal racism at that time, something which scarred me for life. Things have changed tremendously in the last 20 years for women in general and people from the Northeast in particular, in Delhi.
But casual racism, sexism and harrassment of girls is pretty common - especially in the crowded markets.
