It’s your opinion brother, I’m 48 and would love to keep traveling seeing different places, seeing new people etc. I’ll get so bored if stationary. I’ll settle when I die.
ОтветитьEnjoyed the video, and agree with many of your points. I prefer slow travel as well, staying in one place for at least a few months. Then I can take shorter trips as well if I feel like it, but have a home base to come back to. I do seasonal work in the US, and have a few months off between seasons, if I play my cards right. Haven't been able to find decent paying remote work, but the seasonal option is working well for me now. Some people I've met who are doing this, work half the year and take the other half off. Not a bad arrangement. Still connected with your home country, friends and family, but have plenty of time off to scratch the travel itch
ОтветитьStill planning to stay in Thailand with those new taxes? I'd love to live there but if they are going to take 35% of my worldwide income then its not worth it IMHO.
Ответитьstrongly disagree with the suggestion that "sticking to one thing" or "sticking to one place" is a reflection of maturity. Some may continue to violate both and be particularly mature, self-actualized, and content, although their are certainly challenges. If you want to "grow up" by staying put, then come back to the US and join the masses locked into their cubicles and mortgages and stable-but-soulless lives with no hope or desire to free themselves.
ОтветитьI settled here in Thailand for one main reason: the cost of the states became absurd. Hate to use the word, but I'm an Economic Refugee, of sorts. On the positive: life is SO much less stressful being here. On the negative, it is REALLY lonely. I make friends here and there, but there is no replacing old lifetime friends. Just no way to do that. It puts people like me between such a rock & hard place. Inevitably I'm going to go back to the states, because as Forrest says here (I paraphrase) .. "What's the point of having experiences if you can't share it with friends and loved ones". He's absolutely correct.
ОтветитьCan u make a video about plastic surgery the cost the best please
ОтветитьI wanna be in Thailand too, I was there in Chiang Mai last month. Thailand is a beautiful country and the people are equally beautiful. It was so refreshing.
ОтветитьHappy Songkran 2024 to Forrest and 59K subscribers!!!
ОтветитьGo get a job and live a real life, only then you will stop being a whining cry baby.
ОтветитьSomeone commented this guy has Leonard Ellerbe nose. I don't know who should be offended, Leonard or Forrest? What do you think?
ОтветитьThe desire to find new discoveries at any stage of life is not pathetic …….to settle and stagnate is akin to being married to your meme coins ! Becker would be pissed 😅
ОтветитьDude, what is this video??? You are sooo off base for so many reasons. I did bulk of my world travel in 30s and early 40s. You’re acting like you’re in your 70s and a know it all old man. You are portraying just your own experience, be mindful that there are a multitude of experiences. Also, there are many other stages to life where you might get a second wind, and get lots of energy to do new things or go back and do things you thought you were done doing. Sounds like you just want a lady and a serious relationship and family. That’s fine but don’t think your perspective is reality for a lot of people.
ОтветитьWhat I find funny is that Forest never talks about the type of visa he’s on or how he generates income 🤔 I know he gets a pension from the military but what else do you do to fill your days bud?
ОтветитьGood to see you back TIM, PERTH AUSTRALIA
ОтветитьDont grow old n bitter dude! U have a great life
ОтветитьAHH what are you thinking? Marriage? Wife? 🤣🤣 Those are man made prisons. Just ask kman🤣🤣
ОтветитьI like your perspective Forrest
ОтветитьThe thought of traveling to different countries often is appealing, but some of my hobbies & activities really wouldn't be possible while constantly moving. Hoping to move & settle down with my wife in Thailand in the near future, just trying to have a good plan in place.
ОтветитьDaffy Duck in real life. Slobber slobber!

ОтветитьI've been a DN for 8 years now in Asia. You start to miss home a lot after a while, thinking of kids also makes you want to head back for the education.
ОтветитьPerhaps you need to get your testosterone levels checked. Something hormonal might be off
ОтветитьSpot on. 100% spot on.
Ответитьlife's what happens when your busy making other plans -John Lennon
ОтветитьBeen here in Bangkok for 8 months now, ended up getting a corporate job and moved in with my girlfriend. Not sure what would get me to leave again... maybe the pollution xD
ОтветитьYou could be stuck in America doing a 9-5 sitting next to Karen and Bob, paying 2k a month for a studio apartment
ОтветитьI've been stuck in the same area and the same job all my life, so now in retirement I have wanderlust and want to discover new things. I'm kind of glad I didn't do it when i was young, because I feel I can appreciate it a lot more now.
ОтветитьYou're absolutely right about HK. That's why I'm thinking of moving to Thailand.
ОтветитьI wonder how these digital nomads get work visas
ОтветитьI'm one of those wanderlust 50 yo guys. Don't have to act like a 20 year old when you travel in 50's. The travel wanderlust lifestyle isn't for everyone. Most people do get tired of the travel and i do settle in a place from time to time.
ОтветитьTravelling is masculine??? Whut?!
Please, please, please let us abandon these masculine vs feminine tropes. They're dumb.
Fyi: nothing about travelling makes you more masculine than, say, a man who stayed home looking after his family and building his community. Nothing about travelling is masculine or feminine period. Just enjoy it for what it is.
And stop listening to redpill clowns.
“Pathetic”? People doing what makes them happy, sure that’s pathetic. Following fad ideologies? Oh definitely not pathetic at all.
ОтветитьI really enjoy your videos. You should feel free to make money from them.
ОтветитьMy sympathy goes out to ur ass cheeks... 🤣
ОтветитьI am interested in how the new tax regime is working out in Thailand from a practical standpoint. It seems that even the tax pros are confused. Thanks for your video.
ОтветитьI'm 38 with gray hair and want to start traveling like crazy next year so.
ОтветитьI am 80 years old. An Australian living in Phuket. Been retired here for 10 years.
Yes, your whole outlook on life changes as you age. I am fit and strong and healthy. After a life time of raising a family and running a business it is nice to spent time alone and do your own thing.
I gym every day..like time alone. Like having carefully 😮chosen friends. I live alone.. but far from lonely.
I enjoy lots of time alone. But far from lonely.
You only 37.. soon 40. Then 50 and so on.. the years pass very quickly.. enjoy every day.
I love hong kong man. Whenever you get off the plane somewhere it hits you immediately and hong kong is such a good vibe. Way too expensive to live, but I like it. I wish I had the same feeling in Taiwan as it’s such a good residency with the gold card…
ОтветитьAt my age, at a hostel with Euro backpackers, I just laugh at the clowns, but I admire their bravery for the digital lifestyle and work lifestyle they chose. The western countries they come from are not what their grandparents gave them. EU for example: "never again for the Jews holocaust" replaced with tolerance for Muslims and Arabs that are turning the EU inside out. They blatantly and openly threaten EU country take overs. Stupid EU. I understand those that reject the mindless and evil spirited society's they come from and wanting to get away from it. So, you got away from it. Learn gratitude. Be content with what you have. It's not a sin or crime to work for what you want. Better learn to be content and smell the flowers and curry in the streets because the future DOES NOT get better.
ОтветитьInteresting timing of your video. You are being very judgmental, and you are a young man and have no clue about life. You call people later in life pathetic when they want to travel and see the world? Dude… What’s Life meant to be for? Buy a home? I’ve done that! Sit on your ass, work all day, come on dude?! I get it. This is your channel, good on you to say whatever you want. But we need to educate people who are later in life to live their life. We don’t know what’s promised to us. Go out and live it the way you wanna live it and not let any judgment like what you give in your video. I’m 60 and looking to travel all over Southeast Asia starting next month. Im selling everything here. My intentions are for the next year to see if there’s any spot that I want to land for 6 to 9 months of the year and come back to the US for 3 months of the year. I’m very excited. Starting in the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and then back to Thailand, as I was in Thailand, two years ago and loved it. I would not call that pathetic. I would call it embracing life and the journey you make it. You quite honestly sound miserable. And you are young, which is quite sad.
ОтветитьHow about Singapore? A lot of rich ppl (i.e. HK actors, actresses, businessman etc.) from Hong Kong flee over to Singapore before china took over HK.
ОтветитьSaw your interview on Pete's channel. Very much agree with what you said there.
One of the smartest interviews I saw on his channel so far.
Compliment!
great video, authentic and agree, I am 65, clinical Haematologist and travel 3xyearly but dont wanna miss my purpose and my base (Cape Town)
ОтветитьYou need a family and a few kids. Thats what your feeling.
ОтветитьForest: ....Happiness can be defined as "When your results meet or exceed your expectations". Once this is met you have a slide in expectations that become impossible to meet or exceed. The key for fixing unhappiness is "To lower your expectation to meet your current reality OR to make changes to meet that new enhanced expectation".
By experimenting, journaling and self reflection you can make a plan to actually lower your expectation to meet some of the results that are coupled with your goals AND to make key changes to change on the items that are not aligned with your new goals.
Furthermore, growth comes through pain, failure and dissatisfaction. So if you are in motion, see that you are having some pains you then either lean into them because they are necessary to reach a new rung on the ladder. Humans are not meant to be content. At least not humans who are interested in growth and expansion.
What is your 5 year plan, Forest?
ОтветитьI'm sure your mama tops you up with what you need. Hopefully 1 day, you'll stand on your own 2 feet and break free from the apron strings. M8, your nose looks like ant eater proportions. Maybe ask your mom if she will finance a new nose for you 😂
ОтветитьDigital nomad- lay about with a laptop😊
ОтветитьWithout going into personal detail, can you let us know how you can afford living without working ? Pensions ? Investments ? Just curious.
