How many stitches do I need to knit for an adult medium?

This was such a wonderful tutorial, I finally got to knit a hat and I love it alot!
One question though: Would the pattern work if I worked it with circular needles and DPNs? I love the hat, don't get me wrong, but I hate the back seam and knitting in the round gets rid of that :)

I just finished two of these beanies and I cannot thank you enough! I love them both so much! I didn't think I'd ever be able to knit something that I could actually wear and I just keep putting them on and enjoying how toasty they are! too bad I finished them just in time for summer haha. But best believe I'll be ready for the cold season next year!

how come when I do the pattern for the adult size, when it comes to the part where I decrease (the start up round), It says to do 5 times but I have about 11 stitches left over?

I loved this video and wanted to try my hand at knitting with some new knitting needles I found and it mostly went well.
Although I'm almost near the end after the decreases but I have uneven number of loops lefts to decrease. How should I go about that? I mightve made some errors in between. Please help!

Currently working on this hat, just realized I messed up the very beginning of the pattern literally first row.
Apparently don't know how to read 🤡🤡

Crying because it took me two months to finally get it right and once I get my knitting to the right length I have to learn how to do decreases🥲

112 stitches does not come out to the large size.

Just a note for myself:

(102 cast-on)
100 ÷ 5 = 20
20 - 2 = 18
= 18 counts
knit one, mark stitch, do 18 then mark sitich

Hi , I ended up getting 117 stitches above the base stitches… is that right, so that I can continue further ?
