How to write gui tests by opening browser and how to add assesrtion ?

this tutorial is about jest and enzyme but I am not very clear when are you using jest or enzyme, for me all the time you are using enzyme. So enzyme run on top of Jest because Jest is the framework and enzyme is just a library to make the testing easy right?
