You're right, I saw that some levels are using the same map I saw in the original game. I also noticed they removed one of the levels later (I played it as level 2), the one that happens at night and contains multiple waves of attacks, I played it up to wave 5 and died, but came back a few days later to complete it, and it was gone!
ОтветитьBro please do not change your style, your reviews are long because you get in there with nice and deep details that no other VR games reviewers do. Thanks for your hard work.
ОтветитьI think you're right, it was designed as a DLC that got shelved.
ОтветитьGreat review. Winter sniping with WW2 weapons? They really could have pushed the boat out and put you as a Finnish sniper in the Winter War against the Soviets or something - Italy again seems like an odd choice to me, but clearly done because they can use all the same assets...
ОтветитьCan we finally lie on the ground without the belt clipping into the ground, making it impossible to reload?
ОтветитьKeep it just going! Special thanks for the final part 😍
ОтветитьHe must have had to buy a copy like a peasant...he's generally like this (mean and nitpicky) when he's not gifted something on a silver platter.
ОтветитьAm I willing to pay $15 for snow DLC? I might be or I might just wait for a discount code, but I'll get on it eventually.
ОтветитьAm I the only one that has trouble with Sniper Elite VR? It seems like the majority of the time, I have the sniper scope perfectly centered on an enemy but it still ends up missing. It happens more than it doens't. Even if the enemy is not moving at all, the shot will end up missing and break the streak of kills. Its so freaking annoying when you line it up perfectly but it still misses.
Also did they ever do away with the star system? I remember playing the original and you could not move on to the next mission if you didn't have enough stars. I ended up getting pretty far in the campaign but could not get the next mission because I was not able to get the stars required to go. It was so annoying I had to go back and keep playing the same missions over and over. I shouldn't have to make sure I get 20 head shots in a row to play the next mission. If I complete a level, I should be able to go to the next. But not with this game.
The first sniper elite vr was quite poor. I never finished it
ОтветитьLong story short it’s dlc.
ОтветитьI’m enjoying it immensely, fair enough the villa is the same place but it is the same guy that was in the last sniper game, plus,it cost me 99p 😃😃😃😃
ОтветитьLooks like a Nintendo64 game :(
ОтветитьThe fact that they said they listened to feedback and did not improve upon a single thing is so weird. SE is the only vr game i still havent bothered to finish. Never liked the weapon handling apart from the sniper which is fine. I just learned that theres something called the weaver stance. Which wasnt popularized as a gun handling technique before late 1950's so two handing pistols wasnt a practice back then. If they try to be historically correct.
ОтветитьYou usually have a pretty good final summary segments in your videos which is grear for people who dont have time to watch the whole thing, they can just watch that final segment
ОтветитьHi Beardo, to me I enjoy every video regardless of how long each is because I enjoy your content and of course you are my #1 content creator for VR.
Speaking of VR I own a Rift S and been thinking of wireless for more freedom so my I ask what headset I can buy that is best price point without breaking the bank as thy say.
Please share your thoughts, and I am trying to keep it budget friendly if possible.
3.5hrs! Same reasonwhy there are so many procedurally generated games. Developers just want to make a quick, short game, or just don't have any imagination
ОтветитьNo keep it long
ОтветитьHow about the new modes?
Ответить"3.5 hours" is where I exit ;) Next!!!! Kudos for the Review Benjo ;) (see you later, hopefully this year ^_^)
PS: Sure for 11£ is "fair" but.. hmm I will not say anything :P
If it were DLC, new users would have to buy the game. In that way it's nice that it's standalone
ОтветитьGreat review. Very thorough and fair. The developers won't be able to get upset about this honest review with fair gripes.
ОтветитьI think it's a stange complaint to call it out for just being dlc, when the pricetag clearly says that's what it is. That they made it standalone is also a good thing, as it let's people try the franchise out for a cheap price.
The rest of the review was spot on though, Sniper Elite VR has a bunch of issues and it's a shane they haven't polished it up since it came out.
This game really feels like the publisher knew the Quest 3 was coming out and wanted to drop something quick and cheap close to launch and close to Christmas when most people would be looking for games. If you haven't played the first game then this is probably the one to go for due to the low price point but its disappointing they haven't updated either the visuals or the gameplay whatsoever and in a window when there are so many high quality VR games releasing for the Quest platform it feels like this title will struggle and deservedly so.
ОтветитьSnoozing the alarm on this game/DLC.. wake me up when Arizona Sunshine 2 is here!
ОтветитьMeta should allow users to upload hand models
ОтветитьExcited for it, wish it was $60 full game but more SE is great 👍
ОтветитьSo did you get to play the Sniper Hunt or Last Stand portions of the game? I'm happy with the price point myself and a dlc-like game for that price is fine with me. I am curious about the other content in the game aside from the campaign.
ОтветитьThey programmed the wrist to make sure you know he's wearing a sweater. Cuz all old men wear sweaters. :P
ОтветитьReally appreciate the honest info on this. Will still pick it up as stealth/sniper games are rare and I like them. But now going in eyes open 👍
ОтветитьFor psvr2 next aaa games 👍
ОтветитьCould have been a DLC for snow.
ОтветитьThat's a damn shame. I'd really hoped they'd built on what was good from the first and improved the weapon handling because that was always what killed it for me.
ОтветитьDoes it support haptic feedback?
ОтветитьI wonder why they didn't go for a full game? I liked the first one... until I got to the last few levels and couldn't play them because I didn't have enough stars!... That really irritated me, so I deleted it.
Ответитьdude didn't even talk about the other modes. The price is fine for the amount of content, I expected this to just be something like a stand alone dlc.
ОтветитьI completely agree with you on the floaty wrist thing, it feels like you’re holding a pair of mannequin hands.
ОтветитьI remember in 1980 buying Space Invaders for Atari 2600 for $27.50 which is equivalent to paying $140.00 in today's money. Paying $15.00 today in equivalent to paying $3.50 in 1980.
Ответитьwhen i saw this pop up in the store with the cheap price I kinda knew this was DLC not a sequel... ive just finished the first one and really enjoyed it, so a few extra levels for a tenner sounds good for me
ОтветитьThese things you like and other players dislike and differ in their own preferences should have been in game options. This game seems to be an easy money grab by the Dev team to make fast easy cash. The didn't charges so much one would be pissed off enough to demand a refund. Some players like revisiting what they are familiar with in what seems to be an extension with some environment updates as Beardo mentioned in this review. If one never played the original then the tutorial explains what they need to know and yet reminds players how the original game was controlled. Player who never played the original now have a easy time playing the original minus the white. I really hope they just needed a simple shot of cash to continue working on the next big game from these Devs. It feels like something I think Zuck would pull trying to appease Stockholders for all the cash he lost in the recent years, thanks for that tho.. Zuck-man
ОтветитьI wonder if perhaps the game hit a certain point, the lead producer realized they'd basically just reskinned the original Sniper Elite VR, and decided to kinda just pull the plug on it, pull resources, and release it with zero marketing spend with the expectation that it's not going to do very well no matter what they do.
The fact that it looks like it's still based on the Sniper Elite 4 engine instead of the Sniper Elite 5 engine shows that they're really not putting their full resources behind the VR title.
That’s why it came out so fast. I’ll pass for now.
ОтветитьDefinitely sounds like a standalone expansion. IMO there's nothing wrong with that, but they should've been more clear about it.
Didn't play a ton of the first one, but the levels in this definitely looked familiar. At very least they're reusing a ton of assets. Honestly I don't mind that too much either (as long as it's priced appropriately). It could be a good way for VR studios to get a better return on their development investment, which could lead to bigger and better games down the road. It would be nice if they addressed some of the more easily rectified criticism of the first game though.
Looks like a dlc given the price, and standalone is preferable.
ОтветитьThat's a disappointing length. I had hoped the developers would want to match Assassin's Creed and Asgard's Wrath for the new trend of longer VR games. Sniper Elite is my favorite console game and I was really looking forward to this one.
ОтветитьRemember if the game isnt fun, its the dev fault.
ОтветитьIf you dont like the game, just straight out and say it. You dont like it. Why. Bc this and that done. Simple as that . Dont care what the dev say. They the one who made the game. They should know if a game is fun or bad, complete or not. Its their job to entertain us.
ОтветитьUm your videos is not long, you probably didnt like the game. Thats why its short.
Ответитьboring benjo pfft sellout
