How to Install a Graphics card into your PC

I just bought a GeForce GTX 1060 for my gaming PC and my tower is way too small for the GTX 1060 but it came with a cable and a base that the graphics card snaps into. Does anybody know if I can hook that up to the PC like that.

I installed it the right way and my hdmi cable gave up on life( it was 3.2 years old lol)

I can’t find a cable for mine.. does the graphics card power source plug into computers power supply? The pins I have plug into power on mother board and the other one is pci express which there’s no plug for it on the motherboard

Super helpful. I only have 1 question. What should I look at to see if the graphics card im purchasing requires a power supply hookup? I'm not seeing a power supply cord in my prebuilt and id rather not have to take it apart

why do i need to plug in the 8 pin and where am i plugging it into? I see you you put it in the gpu but what about the other end?

I had a heart attack looking for where you find the screws for the gpu and I didn't realize it was just the thumbscrews for the pci e covers

This doesn't show anything about the locking lever on the edge of the port. Also don't do this with the case upright, the weight of the card is putting pressure on the port, and then youre locking it in that position. Not good.

If I download drivers, what do you mean by that?

You know the small arch between the first tab and the second? When you fit the card in the PCIe slot, is the arch supposed to show a little bit or is it supposed to have no gaps? I tried two different cards in my case and it shows a very small gap but a small expansion card fit in there show no gap.
