Doesnt work with 2018 Macbook Pro... Plenty of ram and storage, the laptop has a network adapter cable from usbc-Thunderbold to ethernet but I am still getting the error message: No network adapters were detected, Either no network adatapter are physically connected to the system or a thirdparty dirver may be required. I tried this with esxi7 and 8 nothing works.

Finally, a very professional presentation on what could be daunting to many viewers. No idiotic names of servers or files, no goof-ball attitude, just direct facts. Thank you

ESXI 8, same issue with 7.0.3. USB ports usb 2.0 so this little garbage computer require external NIC which gonna be slow

Hi,
the installation also works on a Mac Pro 7.1 (2019)?

This isn't working since the page only makes you download VMWare 8 and it isn't compatible anymore (at least with my MacBook Pro 2009)

Not sure what it was that I was messing up but formatted so many times, eventually got it to show on the mac mini EFI boot. Think it was the GUID Partition Map or I was selecting the wrong FAT option. Either way, thanks dude.

ESXI won't run on any MACBOOK, it can only run on MAC MINI nor MAC PRO , please, visit VMWARE website .... If you don't ever know what IS ESXI, please go to study it...

this definitely doens't work for any old mac. i have a 2011 imac that won't run esxi 7 because of incompatible network hardware.

"It could be a new Mac, it could be an old Mac, it doesn't matter." Yes it does. The described procedure does NOT work on old Mac Pros (A1186). Using the described process, I created a bootable USB drive. It works exactly as in the video when using a newer Mac laptop. The same USB drive does not work when attempting to boot an old Mac Pro.

I am attempting to do this install on a Mac mini 8,1 macOS Catalina and it is not recognizing the hard drive when installing the iso. Any thoughts on this?

I would like to install ESXi on my old MacBookPro12,1 (2015) but it doesn’t work, i tried many different versions, but it always complains about a missing network adapter, but i use and have the thunderbolt 2 ethernet adapter connected, any idea how to work around this? Tried 5.0, 5.5, 6.5 and 6.7... I‘ll try 7.0 tomorrow but i have a feeling that it doesn‘t work either

Very cool. I'm looking into building my home lab with Apple hardware (I prefer it and have plenty laying around), and I'm glad to see that a native install of a bare metal hypervisor on Apple hardware is pretty seamless.

What I'm wondering is this: is installing a Mac OS VM within ESXi just as seamless considering that the hardware ESXi is installed on is Apple based? I've done a little research on it, but all I've found so far is PC hardware with ESXi installed, and then Mac OS VM installed on top of that -- but it required specific commands and was not seamless.
