Rip Cheems, I wish you smooth sailing when crossing the waters of river Styx 😔
ОтветитьKind of a shit review honestly
ОтветитьThank you for this review. I almost bought it but with an aluminum case that cheap I'm gonna hold off till they make something decent. ❤
Ответитьare the f keys working as f keys or do i need to press alt fn f4?
ОтветитьI have this keyboard, and I love mine. Mine is the version with the black keys and tactile switches. Possibly, they have addressed some of the build issues because I don't have a dent on the bottom of mine. And while the keyboard is quite light, it doesn't feel cheap to me. Frankly, I love the way it looks.
As for the typing experience, this is very subjective. I don't like low profile mechanical keyboards as a rule, but I rather like typing on this one. Of course, it is not quite as smooth and wonderful as typing on my daily driver, which is a CIDOO V87. Because the travel distance is considerably smaller on a low-profile keyboard, the problem becomes making the activation force high enough to prevent accidental keystrokes from registering. As a result, I find this keyboard's required force to be slightly higher than I would like; my hands get tired more quickly than when using my CIDOO V87. Still, I own maybe a dozen different keyboards and this one is my second favorite typing experience.
It sounds great. The reviewer was obviously trying to avoid saying the word "thock," but this keyboard is surprisingly thocky, especially considering the low profile. It's also a very creamy thock, which I personally prefer. I think this is achieved by having shorter stems on the keycaps, which means while the travel distance is the same (standard low profile), the tops of the keys are noticably lower than if you use standard low profile keycaps. The shine-through XVX keycaps I got to use with this board therefore sound slightly worse (lighter, more hollow) than the stock caps. I love they way it LOOKS with the XVX caps, but I ended up removing them and going with the stock keycaps despite them not being shine-through and having an odd lighted horizontal line in the top quarter. It's strange and awkward when the LEDs on the keyboard are on.
All in all, it is my second favorite keyboard, and it is very Mac friendly. I got it to pair with my M1 Macbook Pro because it is light and compact. For this use case, it is ideal. Most of the time when I buy a new keyboard, after a few minutes I am thinking about returning it, but I was pleasantly surprised by the Lofree Flow. I'm holding on to mine, even if there might be better built low profile keyboards out there.
Hmm tahtsin seda aga sinu video mainib kôiki asju mida teised ignovad. Tänu sinu videole saan teha informeeritud otsuse ja vältida seda klaverit.
ОтветитьGreat job pointing out the dents from the screws. I appreciate it when people take the time to review products thoroughly and you saved me from making a purchase I would have ultimately regretted.
ОтветитьThis review is so strange, because my experiences are completely different to yours. The linear POM switches I have are fantastic and super smooth and plush with no 'steppiness' to them. Maybe you got an early production model? I added after market XVX shine through keycaps which make the keyboard illumination superb. Also added some O rings and I have to say the typing action is as good as you can get with a low profile keyboard.
ОтветитьNuphy it is! Thank you for helping me make up my mind.
ОтветитьThat Topre sounds nice.
ОтветитьNote, the keyboard has 1 price, but they charge an arm and leg for shipping, so the "real" cost will be closer to 200usd + import duties (and they also charge vat, even though they are shipping it from Shenzhen). I bought mine during black friday, with a 23.85 dollar discount. Shipping was 37.50 + whatever import duties I will end up having. The cost, for me, with blackfriday discount, will probably be over 200 usd. Which puts it not very far from a HHKB. I hope its VERY enjoyable.
If I had seen your review before I bought it, I might have not gotten it.
watching his videos feel like watching a time traveler going ahead in time and discovering new keyboard tech
Ответитьthis is shit, not a keyboard
ОтветитьDamn, what a shithile of KB. Thanks for the honest review!
ОтветитьI really like your explanations on why your review is a true honest review compared to product focused channels. Thanks for this.
Ответитьcheck the nuphy :3
Ответитьhi, can I put my standard GMK keycap on this keyboard?
ОтветитьNice try Lofree, hope they try harder next product, this one is a no-go for me.
ОтветитьRazer Desthstalker v2 pro has the best low profile switches I have tried, as they are smooth optical ones. But the keyboard is super expressive. Although the build quality is excellent, too.
Ответить@livakivi Can this switch between multi-devices ?
Ответитьoof yeah im gonna stay far far away from anything produced by the Lofree.
ОтветитьGreat video. On my headphones, your topre sounds more rattily than Lofree. 😀
ОтветитьAdding O rings reduces the noise on this even further as it stops the bottoming out.
ОтветитьKeyboard sounds great, I wish build quality was better. I will definitely keep an eye out for the eventual upgrade and improvements. Thanks for your review.
ОтветитьCan you do the comparison with the Nuphy air75 V2?
ОтветитьI'm really disappointed that Kailh gave in and made Choc V2s instead of continuing to push the original V1s. I vastly prefer them and not being able to bring over my MBK POM keycaps, which are just fantastic feeling.
ОтветитьGreat and honest review. I like how you presented it. And yeah while Lofree Flow looks good, it is a waste of money especially with the materials used.
Ответитьwhy pay for this when the cycle7 exists? better build quality, too
ОтветитьYou should try Nuphy's new Air75 V2. It made a lot of improvements to it, like QMK/VIA, prelubed switches, doubleshot Keycaps, larger battery, kick up feet, and so on.
ОтветитьThis appears to be an Nuphy Air75 clone? But it costs more and it’s lower quality. If you like style try the Nuphy. Bluetooth, wifi, and wired.
ОтветитьThat keyboard sounds superb considering its low profile that is for sure. I will not be buying it because of the cheap case manufacturing, no programmability and less important but still - the cable. Would be nice having matching braided cable.
ОтветитьThe cable, the quality issues and finally the backlight shine through is what made my jaw drop open...
ОтветитьI'm happy with the typing feeling of my black version (with the tactile switch).
The bottom case of this keyboard is literally a paper thin aluminium sheet, it is very easy to teardown by removing the screws on the side and all the dents/ bends can be quite easily removed with some minor bending by hand. Obviously, they are just saving cost here and is quite disappointing.
Also, on my unit they do not remove some of the bottom foam in the cutout holes, it would really be better to just take it apart and check.
ew kickstarter, good luck to all backers
Ответитьyou're meant put the foam actually inside the keyboard no?
Ответитьbluetooth switch on the (back)side is underrated
ОтветитьI like your keyboard stuff and this was interesting, but i just need mine numpad and every available physical button for my workflow, so this product isn't for me.
ОтветитьAny video put out is very well done, it doesn’t matter the topic everything seems as high quality as the previous. Great video
ОтветитьI don't know if you have mentioned it in the past, have you considered using a split keyboard? I am currently working on a 34-key split (wireless) keyboard, and even when unfinished I find it to magnitudes better than what I could ever hope to feel on a regular keyboard, and will be even better when I manage to add tenting for it.
ОтветитьGlad you were able to make your first review video on your own terms! Definitely felt you were able to maintain your personal tone as usual. Also, really enjoyed getting to hear more keyboard ASMR :D
ОтветитьAre you going to make more review videos in the future?
