BOSE VS SONOS Soundbar! BOSE 600 Review - 2022 Best Small Sound Bar!

The Sonos can’t be switched off so it isn’t green.

I’m thinking in going for the Bose 600 or the Denon home 550. Which one would you recommend? Thank you!

Alright folks. I’m torn between the two of them but should I solely because of the up firing atmos speaker? It’s for my bedroom and ceiling is not too high

I’m guessing that Bose are going to update or have a new soundbar soon as all the retailers are selling the 900 with £200 off now.
(I guess $200 USA) So it’s either a great time to buy the 900 at the reduced price or should I wait as the new one just might be better?

The polk magnifi mini ax plus sr2 surround speakers can be has for a similar price as the bose 600. Would that be better value or is the bose soundbar standalone performance (without sub, speakers) still superior?

I should have bought this from the website. Got it from best buy a month ago and now its $100 cheaper it went on sale and my return date ended.😅 oh well great product just sucks when I could have gotten cheaper by just waiting 2 more weeks.

Only thing that puts me off this is lack of DTS Support otherwise it be instant purchase (Large Physical Media Collection haha)

Excellent review! Those of us over 50 years old can confirm what I am going to say: bass is important, yes... but when you have years of experience and have listened to various speakers of different types, ranges, and brands... you are convinced that the most important thing is not the bass, nor the power... this eventually becomes tiresome and boring due to the novelty of new and unusual sounds... what years and experience gives you is the capability to seek clarity in all frequencies. That no frequency is competing with another one to reach your ear... Rather, they work in unison and in harmony, to bring forth the sound that only Bose knows how to do and only those who have or have had a Bose product know what I mean.

Can I add Sounlink Flex as rear/ satellite speaker for soundbar 900?

I have a high ceiling around 14 feet, would the atmos effect be more pronounce if I put a Shelve (ikea Lack) above the TV?

I am planning to buy a soundbar for my living room which is around 250sqft . I am confused between Bose Soundbar 900 , Bose Soundbar 600 or the Samsung Q990B.
Only the Samsung comes with Surround speakers and woofer , i am very confused.
Would like to know your suggestion

I was SO Impressed I sent it back to Bose. It sounded good when it worked but I couldn't get the bugs out. Tried to get phone support, was put on hold, and the number of callers ahead of me "grew" from 3 to 29 so I finally gave up on that. After trying for 30 days, I ran out of time and had to return it.

Hi ! my tv have just a hdmi Arc output, so the Dolby TrueHD Atmos sound can't be play, no ? this Bose have a unique hdmi port, no ?

Do you have any recommendations on what to set the audio levels at for centre channel, height channel, bass and treble?

I like bose 900 tried samsung q990b with lg g2 but there is sound drop off issue which is so annoying so bose 900 wins for me add with 700 module than absolutely amazing

i bought the bose 600 today from best buy. the acoustics, voice, separation of vocals from treble to bass is amazing. so clear when watching news, movies, netflix, disney+ but i am also a bass enthusiast. i can tell you right now that you need to get the bose module to improve the overall experience. for me the bass is just not enough. dont get me wrong, i am not a bass addict but the thump is obviously missing with this. you need to get the bose module.

How does it compare to two HomePods 2?

For a smallish room bose 900 only OR BOSE 600+ BOSE 500 SUBWOOFER? Cost total is almost same?

really good comprehensive review. Like many others I have narrowed down to a decision between Beam 2 or Bose 600. I have a 65 inch LG OLED and I have heard several reviewers discuss set up problems with the Bose to LG OLED, and not being too tech savvy, this concerns me and is steering me more to the Beam 2.

No surprise, the Bose works well with the bouncy house Atmos effects. Even the vintage stuff work with reflecting the sound. That's one of the reasons audiophiles hate them.

At a similar price, would u get the 700(on sale) or 600?

Aynone successfully use the 600 with a 3rd party sub? I'm seeing mixed opinions whether it's possible or not.

We bought the Bose. We're very happy with the dynamics in the sound.

I'm having a hard time deciding between the bose 600, beam gen2 or samsung q930 or 990b but I live in a small apartment but would love to future proof stuff now that I have the money. How low can u turn the bass on the 930/990?

This was a really good review. I'm going to pick up the LG 42 C2 oled for my 10 x 10 foot home office and I was looking for a small soundbar. Anything bigger would be overkill and this might just fit the bill. Thanks! I only have experience with one soundbar - the Def Tech Mythos SSA-50, but it is paired with a receiver and sub and sounds really good. I have that in my bedroom, but I digress.

I have a Sonos Beam Gen 1 with two Symfonisk bookshelf speakers in the master bedroom for a LG OLED 55C9 for a few years. The TV is wall mounted with the Sonos attached and mounted under the TV. Our listening position is about 18 feet from the TV with the surrounds on either side of the bed on stands. Having the rear surrounds compliments the Sonos and really improves the overall sound and dialogue. I just added the Sonos Gen 3 sub and that really was a noticeable improvement in bass, sound quality, voice clarity, and bass feel.

I have the Bose 600, Surround Speakers, and the Bose Bass 700, I think this just convinced me to just stay with the 600 for now, because with the obvious increase in sound with the 900, it doesn't seem like it's terribly better than the 600; might get the 900 for X-mas. Nice review.

I'm looking for something to replace my Vizio elevate since my 65'' Sony A8H isn't wall mounted anymore and the Vizio is much too wide to fit under the TV in between the legs of the TV stand. I came across this and the beam would you say the Bose will give me a better sound for movies? Also my wife hates the elevate because it drops out at the beginning of any show or movie that is streaming and if we pause we have to rewind a bit so as not to miss any dialog. Does this happen with the Bose by chance?

You are asking about the smaller Bose, it's the "Solo 5" or the "TV Speaker". I have a Solo 5 and use it just for taking on vacations, for the Bluetooth from our phones. It really does well for giving pleasant audio in a hotel room or small condo.
I got a similar sized Sony that sounds more full range and has ARC HDMI so it can be controlled through the Samsung TV remote.

I appreciate your opinion/takes on these units and can your honesty is apparent. I haven't heard you mention Sony or Yamaha. I will look through your content to see if you have info on either of those

Only drawback with sonos is the missing of bluetooth which is a major reason why I don’t purchase it

May brother has Bose throught his house and I have SONOS. He is jealous of my whole home audio. He has a rack system of Bose for his home audio that was professionally installed. I think that's pretty telling. Your price points are off. U can set up a Beam Gen 2 with a sub mini with two Ikea book shelf speakers (SONOS) for under $1200 and the sound is totally awesome. Having said that Bose has quality products but I prefer the SONOS . The S2 app, with Trueplay is far superior than Bose.

Sonos and Apple are like Hotel California once you check in it’s hard to leave. I have Sonos speakers throughout my home and I purchased a Beam for the bedroom because I knew the Beam would slide right in. I’m locked comfortably into the Sonos ecosystem. I think this is a point which is missed in many reviews.

Thank you for this review. I purchased the 600 just after Christmas, partially based on this video. I am thoroughly satisfied with the 600. It's ideal for the space that I'm using it in and the performance is surprisingly good. If you can get it on sale, it's a good value based on the Atmos capability and the upward facing drivers. The upward facing drivers really differentiate this model from others in the price range. Ultimately I did choose to add the 500 bass module. While the 600 is adequate on its own, the sub adds significant richness to the experience. If your budget allows, I strongly recommend adding the sub (when it is on discount.)

Would love to get a comparison of this and Sony A3000.
