Man from what i see very strong structure not like ford,chevy and maybe cadillac. I wish volvo would step up the game in design and size like cadillac esv

Someone caused me to crash in my '08 V70. Written off and I was absolutely gutted. But for a 30mph collision (I went into their side with no chance to react) I didn't even have the slightest whiplash or anything. Only felt where the seatbelt had locked and ringing in the ears from the airbags. I was so impressed that I replaced it 2 days later with an '08 V70.

Can you survive an explosion in a Volvo

Here's an aspect of safety that no one one talks about. Working with first responders to get people out of a badly crashed cars. Volvo does that in Sweden, and I know they've done that in the US too. Getting you out of a horrific crash as quick as possible is important. Do other car companies do this? I don't know. You tell me.

Reminds me when a truck tried to overtake another truck, coming towards me at about 90kph. I had tenths of a second to decide whether to take the trucks head-on or dodge into the ditch.

I chose the ditch. I've rolled over the length several times. Sky - wheat field - sky - wheat field, several times.
There wasn’t much left of the S80, but I was fine except for a scratch on my forearm and nausea. This car definitely saved my life. Volvo for life.
