How to Fix Mic or Camera Permissions on macOS or Discord

Hi, I know this comment is really late but I'm getting really desperate. I am playing on a Minecraft modpack that has a voicechat mod. When I open Minecraft and try and use voicechat, nothing happens and I get the message along the lines of "MacOS doesn't have access to microphone privileges". When I go to my settings to look for a request from Minecraft to use voicechat, there isn't one. Is there anything I can do to force Minecraft to give me microphone privileges? Thank you in advance

Fixed my macbook pro with the csrutil enable, but can't fix my imac... Tried everything in this video. Anyone fix it on an imac? maybe it is different. i am using Ventura 13.4

im running ventura, when i open up mic or camera in settings i have no aps that show up for me to even try and turn them on or off, im at a loss. can anyone help?

Hey Chris, great video. I'm dealing with issues on my camera and mic not being able to give such apps permission to access, no apps appear on the security and privacy to allow it. I have done all these steps and nothing has worked out for me. I hope you can make these good videos. Thank you!

Wow!! Great!! My Pro Tools microphone was not showing up as having permission on my Mac, even after I gave it permission, when it 1st opens.
Hence I couldn't record any Vocals.
I was on the phone with a couple of experts, No Help.
I just reset the NVRAM according to your instructions.
Everything works, Pro Tools shows up now, as having permission to use the microphone.
I can know record again. I/O settings now working correctly.

1. reset SMC
2. Reset NVRAM
3. Enable csrutil in recovery terminal

When in my discord settings it shows multiple audio input/output options, but for the camera option, there is only the FaceTime HD option available. I'm using my iphone with epoc cam running. It works in obs, but not discord. Any thoughts?

hey chris, it seems discord no longer supports camera/microphone usage from mac 10.10.5 and earlier; ive found reddit threads with lots of other users encountering the same issue. my laptop is heaps old and can no longer update its OS, i was wondering if you know of any ways to bypass this issue?
(i tried the terminal suggestions but it came back with "-bash: csrutil: command not found" and "tccutil: Failed to reset database")

So I wanted to screen share on my mac and I had to download ace driver on my mac but when it showed to give permission I accidentally clicked no and now I can't screen share. I tried what the FAQ said and to delete the Ace Driver folder and redownload it but that did not work and I don't know how to receive that prompt again on my system preferences.

So when I try to unmute my mic on discord, it says "MICROPHONE ACCESS IS DENIED" "Instructions for enabling access to your microphone can be found in the Discord Help Center." But I can't find any help since it only covers for chrome and doesn't help me on Mac. So I was wondering if you may know the solution to this problem?

When using a patched Mac OS on an unsupported Mac csrutil status is mainly disabled. So in my case csrutil enabled immediately fixed this problem. Thx for sharing, great job!
