100$ for FF 1 to 6 pixel 30 years old is to much... the just annarque

These games are so polished in this collection, they’ve really impressed me. I am going to buy them one at a time (currently playing 6) but I feel like there should have been a noticeable money saving if you bought all as a bundle. Like you said $60 would have been an excellent incentive to go all in. But as for the games themselves, I have zero complaints!

Final Fantasy franchise is still garbage so who cares.

Im glad i have them all on PS5 now, to go with 7 8 and 9 makes a nice collection. Not really a fan of some of the decisions made, they seemed hell bent on keeping true to the originals...but also not really? For example in FF1 they raised the level cap from 50 for some reason...and the translation quirk that referred to the 4 crystals as orbs why? If you are going to stay true to the original then do it...quirks and all, its how they were remembered, its how they should be experienced. Some of the entries had some really nice content additions in the remakes, ff4 having a party system at the end and post game for them was really nice, no real benefit to not include that especially when other liberties were taken to cannonball the original experience of the NES/SNES games anyway. They dont feel like faithful remasters, and they dont feel like definitive editions. They are really just another way to play the games imo.

Anyone watching this video can see with that awful frame pacing issue (which exists on all platforms) that no, it’s not perfect at all.

I CAN'T BELIEVE they want $25+ per game for these. How many times have we all bought them? These should have been bundled into one game. Square is STARVING for money at this point.

Actually I'm actually looking forward to playing these games. It's great that SE actually fixed all of the bugs and weird fonts that they actually used in past games. Actually.

Just purchased FF6 for now. Hope these will get put on sale after some time. Very expensive for 'the full Monty' in the online stores and even more so for the physical (if you can find it).

is there a CRT filter for these games ? i’m not a fan of the super sharp pixel look. i never really thought about it but CRT tvs really did a lot for pixel games back in the day and that’s the look i prefer tbh.

I am satisfied this came out because this offers better value for money then Nintendo Switch's stupidly over rated online will ever offer. I rather pay what the bundle cost then pay ONE RED DIME on NSO. NSO is Nintendo coming to the home demanding all your money then a kick to the junk and then rinse and repeat each year.. SCREW THAT. At least Square Enix has earned my money and my respect

So in their boost mechanic......they made these games just ridiculously easy. Sorry I am old school. I was 9 when the original released in 1987, and 13 when it arrived here in 1991. It took about a month to complete the original game. Now it takes less than 6 hours just with the change in the leveling system. I know everything is on the run now.......but I do miss those hella long time to finish games.

Nah graphics wise ff6 pr looks worse than snes ff6 in some cases. 😂

Totally agree about the price. I’m buying them individually over a period of time to save money. Buy one, complete it and buy another. FF1 took me a week to complete and now I’m playing 4. Not sure about when I’ll be getting 2 and 3. I heard so many good things about 4 that I had to give it a shot.

Buying them individually on the switch as the price is a tad high to go all out....bought VI 2 weeks ago and still playing (trying a near perfect run but not sure I want to get every rage....)

One thing that's missing is proper scanlines

They should have scrapped FF 16 and made a new retro one. Would be a better game

Price seems fine tbh considering each game is better then half of the 70 euro games that has been released this year

Good review ! I live the FF series especially the classic games. I’m happy they are on modern consoles and I don’t have to dig out my old stuff I would love the 3D remakes of 3 and 4 from DS on modern consoles but for iOS these are lovely. I do wish also that 4 after years and stuff were included.

it sucks that these wont be coming to xbox (yet) i have hope that they will i mean they have released some FF games on the console before and look at the Kingdom Hearts series for the longest time that series was locked to Playstation until KH3 came out on xbox as well and soon after the back catalogue came as well

Games run slower on Switch than on Steam. I wish they'd release the boosts for Steam. PS5, however, is cracked.

I’m playing these games on ps4 , and the graphics don’t look like a pixel remaster. Any way I can make the games look better on my large hdtv?

Never played the old ones, tried FF6 when it came out on playstation 1 but had a hard time with the old graphics, guess i should try out only FF6 now then. FF 1-5 looks way to old in graphics even on pixel remaster

No it isnt! Stutter and tearing issues are still rampant. For the price tag and how old these games are, its unacceptable.

As far as ff1 the best version is on psp the Sprites look way better imo and you get the bonus content from the dawn of souls gba version

I only got 6 for now, on my switch as that one was the only must try for me, loving it. The other games fall into a maybe someday category for me

The stuttery scrolling is really bad though - I'm amazed this game is getting so many positive reviews and not one mentioned that issue, that's NOT how the scrolling looked in the original games. Yes, it doesn't make the game unplayable, certainly because they're turn-based, but it's unpleasant and ugly and definitely should be fixed.

The Switch is perfect for this series. TV, monitor, portable... however you want to play them and you get a physical copy that will hold its value as Nintendo alsways does.

i wanted rhe ps4 version but settled on the switch version due to price ebay prices for the ps4 version is bullshit

I totally agree with the part on boost system. It's so considerate offering CHOICES for all kinds of players and allowing all of them to enjoy the game, whether they come for a normal walkthrough, a quick taste of the classics, or challenges.

Honestly I’m kind of “spoiled” by the boost system in the FF remasters (1-9), and hate to see remasters/rereleases without lowering the difficulties (e.g. FFX and FFXII on switch, Romancing Saga remasters, Tactics Orge remaster, etc.) as well as newly released games without difficulty options. （the above comments apply only to RPG games btw
